This is the place

Hello I am Sarah, I have long dreamt of working full time in the music business industry. Now is the time for me to take the plunge, follow my hearts desires, work hard and learn as much as possible.

I am absolutely fascinated with the behind the scene cogs that work synergistically to pull together a complete package to present to the world an artist, event, label or music project.

As A music fan I know the euphoric feeling you get when your favourirte band or artist emerges onto the stage or announces they are releasing new material. I want to work on all of the creative and logistical factors that lead to that point.

My desire for working in music of course starts with my passion and love, which I see as a great place to start, but it also comes from an ambition to innovate, create and build.

Having had previous experience in some areas of the music industry I have had insights that have strengthened my decision to make this my career for the next 30 years and beyond.

I have a comprehensive understanding of what hard work means. I know that with change comes great challenge but I thrive when I take educated risks.

My previous successful career in the Beauty business has given me so many transferable skills that will not only accelerate my learning experience but will also inspire my business ideas for the future. Many times I have been overlooked for having a career in beauty, there is a very dated stereotype attached to the industry but please do not under estimate me. The beauty industry is one of the largest growth industries globally today and I have loved been on the crest of the wave.

I have many ideas to share and debate

I have the passion to engage

I have the humility to learn

I have a business head on my shoulders and a creative buzz in my heart

MY GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER OWNED THIS SHOP IN RUGBY. DURRANTS PIANOS. YOU CAN SEE MY SURNAME PAINTED ALL OVER THE SHOP FRONT. THEY MADE, SOLD AND REPAIRED PIANOS. AROUND TWENTY YEARS AGO MY DAD DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THERE TO BE EIGHT LEFT IN CIRCULATION BUT AT THE TIME HE HAD NO ROOM FOR ONE. I WOULD LOVE TO TRACK ONE DOWN. MADE WITH MY FAMILIES TALENTED HANDS. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE THERE IS ONE PLEASE GET IN TOUCH

In 2004 I entered a DJ competion on radio ones Dave Pearce dance anthems show. In the final round I had to name songs and titles from sound bites. I was up against two other guys and I won hands down getting every one correct The prize was a pair of brand new mark 3 technics 1200s and a chrome plated numark mixer signed by all the radio one dance music DJS. When the package arrived the decks were not signed so the brilliant team at radio one sent me a stack of vinyl instead including some white labels. I have the whole thing recorded on a cassette somewhere it was immense.

The 1200s became my prized possession but during a break up they were sold. The saddest day, I felt like I had lost a person. They sold on eBay to someone in Scotland for a mere £500.They were priceless to me but I guess sometimes life destroys art.

I would give anything to track them down now, I hope whoever received them cared for them the way I did. The day they got packaged up and shipped off a little light went out for a while. I have huge regrets about how this story ended and it has taught me to always Value your own achievements, never let anyone else stamp out your dreams and be grateful for everything.

Dedicated space dated technology but I love it

I am really interested in the work the Eden project does and their live music events. I go to Cornwall most years in the summer and it's great for the local people to see such huge acts close to home

When in Brazil I visited an original bossa nova club, the musicians were so understated and talented The girl from ipanema was actually penned in this club
