leck quasar vs rob barret
What an interesting match-up!!!! In which we all lose either way!!! ;DD
So, I think that Leck comes out on top of this one. Rob might have an actual dragon, but tbh thatās not much of an advantage since it isnāt a particularly large or strong one. Plus, Leck is smarter than Rob (not a high bar tbh) and more vicious. Leck actively delights in fighting/violence and I feel like heās also had better training/experience than Rob has had. They are both overly confident in their abilities, too, but I think Rob is even more confident than Leck ⦠and has less to back that up, haha.Ā

A Deal with the Devil | Rob & Dezód
dezoddestriksyon:
āItās more than a rumor, dearie.āĀ Fractured eyes fixed on the boyās face. The mists of time had consumed those few trembling reminders of his own lost humanity, but Dezód had seen enough time come and go to recognize the tremors that ran through the human spirit.Ā A giddy laugh shrieked up from the sorcererās windpipe and he clapped his hands wildly.
āDefensive,ā he commented, wrinkling his nose.Ā āI like that.Ā It shows a little fight.āĀ He tilted his head, rusty curls dipping against his shoulders.Ā Yet, no matter how he shifted, his weird eyes, fixed on Rob, did not move.Ā The trick was figuring out just how much fight the boy really had: heād be needing a great deal, Dezód calculated, if he meant to take a stand against Cassius Montagu and Rhaegar, not to mention all the costs that came with stealing a creature like a dragon.
Fractured eyes narrowed as he peered at the boy before him. Ā Rob stood an inch taller than himself, their eyes almost at equal height as a result. Ā House Barret tended to produce taller men than Rob, however - tall in all senses - and that was just what made Rob so invaluable a specimen to him.
His voice was proud, thick with his own impressiveness and it struck Dezòd with gleeful amusement. Ā He would be easy enough to ensnare. Ā This was not a person who was going to walk away - the only question was whether or not heād have the guts to actually move forward when the moment of truth arrived.
āYou are not a dragon rider born,ā observed Dezòd. Ā His angular face puckered into a kind of bemusement all his own as he carefully observed the boyās face. Ā Waving a hand theatrically, he turned away, waiting. Ā He knew well enough what he was going to ask, what he needed, but he believed in the importance of suspense. Ā āIt will not be withoutā¦consequences,ā he added, tilting his head to one side. Ā āAnd it shall not,ā he said, raising a hand majestically. Ā āBe easy.Ā For you.ā
He turned back to the boy with an impish grin and gestured towards him. Ā āAs it happens, youāre in luck, dearie. Ā The bond between dragon and rider is fierce and it will take savagery to break it.Ā Youāve the key at your fingertips.ā Ā Raising both hands, Dezòd giggled, fractured eyes glittering. Ā āYouāll need the blood of the dragon, youāll need to hold itās throbbing, bleeding heart in your hand.ā Ā He sniggered and turned away from Rob, continuing to speak.
āYour dragon already shares a spiritual link with its intended rider. Ā Ya need to hijack that link and take it. Ā Dāya know what the blood of the dragon is?ā Ā His smile was private, eyes shifting off into the distance. Ā He could taste its metal on his tongue, that shock of blue-turned-crimson. Ā āThere is one in your midst you must cut the heart out of and bear it here to me, along with aā¦gift. Ā Blood pays for blood and I will need a great deal of itā¦
āYou are bold, indeed,ā he added.Ā āThey say dragons are godly creatures: a bit sacrilegious, isnāt it?āĀ Another jolt of laughter.Ā āYouāll need that.Ā You are not dragonborn, it is true, but what you ask is not impossible, though the cost is absolute.āĀ He whirled, suddenly, to face Rob, raising a hand above his head in a dramatic gesture.Ā āYou must bring me the heart of the dragonās daughter upon the night of her wedding.Ā Rip it from her chest, for she is both the child and the bride of living flame.Ā Bring, too, your own blood.Ā Your nephew,ā he added, eyes slithering away from Robās once more.
āWhat you ask,ā he added, quickly.Ā āIt is not without cost, you should know.Ā Your dragon will not be so strong as it might have been, with its true rider, but I can make it grow fast and grow large.Ā All ya need do is say the word.ā
When he heard Dezód say that it would not be easy, he felt himself all the more determined to go through with it. All of his life, he had felt as though no one around him saw him for what he was. He was told that he couldnāt and shouldnāt do certain things. And if he was said to have made any accomplishments at all, they were all overshadowed by those of his older brothers. If Dezód thought that this would be easy for him, Rob would prove him wrong, too.Ā
āI can handle any challenge you put before me. Whatever the price, Iāll pay -- so long as you hold up your end of the bargain.āĀ
He was asking for a dragon, but he knew that with it, would come so much more. He would have power and influence. He would have respect. And all of Aragoth would look to him as the hero they had prayed for. He would go down as the First Dragon Rider of a new age.Ā
But when Dezód began to describe what he needed to do: Rob did not understand. His brow furrowed in confusion and frustration.Ā āSpeak plainly! I do not have time for your riddles! Who is the dragonās daughter?ā All he could think of was Rhaegar himself: the only literal dragon he knew of. And he was certain that he had had no children: he was, after all, the last of them.Ā
āRic?ā He asked,Ā āWhy do you want him? Because heās supposed to be special?ā He almost laughed when Dezód had said it. āWell, he isnāt. He just thinks he is. If you want the little brat, you can have him.ā Heād never liked him. Ric looked at Rob like he could see through him, as though he knew (or thought he knew) exactly what Rob was thinking. Everyone loved Ric and everyone thought that his abilities would somehow aid them in defeating the Queen. They were all stupid if they thought that. Ric had never done anything.Ā
āIs that all?ā He asked,Ā āTell me who the dragonās daughter is, and we have a deal.āĀ
ā which muse is The Worstā¢
What does it say about me that I have literally been agonizing over this question for hours????Ā
Okay so ā these are my top contenders, but I canāt decide who???? isĀ The Worstā¢???Ā
Leck Quasar - an obvious answer. heās a horrible person. heās violent, rash, unbalanced, sadistic, cruel, an actual murderer, bUT he at least is super loyal to his family which, Iām realizing is more than I can say for my next contestant. also, he was literally raised in a cult/was brainwashed since birth like ⦠he hardly had a chance, tbh.Ā
Rob Barret - so, at first glance, he is NOT as bad as Leck. Like heās literally risking his life r/n as part of a resistance to fight the evil queen!!!! but thatās about all heās got going for him and as he stews in his own emotions of feeling held back/inferior to his bros, heās proven that he will do ANYTHING to get the glory heĀ ādeservesā including selling his nephew and murdering his sister-in-law who are the two most important ppl in his brotherās lives and he doesnāt even bat an eye at this.Ā
Max Monroe - okay so he hasnāt killed anyone, but I canāt think of 1 good thing to say about him???? heās super manipulative, abusive, toxic, and selfish. the only person he cares even a little bit about is noah and tbh heād screw him over in a heartbeat if it meant he could gain from it. I donāt think heās ever done a good thing in his life
Elias Turner - he acts like the perfect gentleman/family man, but heās literally conducting secret experiments on people in his basement????? and heās manipulated his own little brother into murdering/kidnapping innocent people??? and his brother is who he cares for most in the entire world, outside of himself??????Ā
So yeah??? Who is the worst???? Who knows?? Not me.Ā
1/7 SIGNIFICANT QUOTES ā Ā aĀ deal with the devilĀ
āDonāt be shy, dearie,ā said Dezód. āState what youāre after and Iāll state what itāll cost ye. It wonāt be cheap! Achieving your dreams never truly is and yāknow dark magic requires dark sacrifice. So! What will you give me? Speak up! Youāre a desperate man in search of a desperate solution. Iāve seen your kind before.ā
āThere is a rumor that there are three dragon eggs that were salvaged fifteen years ago,ā Rob allowed himself a smirk, doubting that Dezód expected him to know this. He would show him how much he knew. āAnd I want to find one. I want it to hatch for me and I want it to grow faster than any dragon ever has.Ā Whatever your price for this, I assure you, I will pay it. That is, if this is not beyond your ⦠talents to achieve.āĀ
āYou are bold, indeed,ā Dezod replied. Ā āThey say dragons are godly creatures: a bit sacrilegious, isnāt it?ā Ā Another jolt of laughter. Ā āYouāll need that. Ā You are not dragonborn, it is true, but what you ask is not impossible, though the cost is absolute.ā Ā He whirled, suddenly, to face Rob, raising a hand above his head in a dramatic gesture. Ā āYou must bring me the heart of the dragonās daughter upon the night of her wedding. Ā Rip it from her chest, for she is both the child and the bride of living flame. Ā Bring, too, your own blood. Ā Your nephew,ā he added, eyes slithering away from Robās once more.
ooc | Rob & Avina
HI JENN!!!!!!!!
SO this loser is Rob! Heās the younger brother of Cris, who is going to marry Avinaās sister, Ana so ... they are gonna be family. I do think that Rob, when he first met Avina, tried to be kind to her (or as kind as he knows how lol) b/c of their siblings ++ they were in the resistance together. But I donāt think that it lasted that long.Ā
Since Avina has ~visions~ and is therefore ~special~, Rob would definitely feel extremely jealous of her abilities ++ the attention she receives b/c of it. Rob likes to think that heās superior to everyone else and heās convinced that it is only that he hasnāt gotten a chance to prove his worth ... but I think on some level he does know what a disaster he is haha and is super insecure and so when he sees other peopleĀ āsurpassā him he gets jealous and then he gets weird and yeah.Ā
So I think he doesnāt really like her (through no fault of her own). I do think he probably half tries to be nice to her still, but it is obviously fake and he shifts between that and being mean and iām just so??? sorry??? about him????Ā
Also, he really, really wants to be a dragon rider to the point where heās gone and made a deal with Dezod so that will happen and ofc Dezod has all kinds of conditions for him which Rob has all agreed to and one of them is to straight up kill Avinaās sister, Ana, so tHAT will happen eventually lol. SO all of this is to say, I donāt think these two will get along much ;))))Ā

⦠Age: (27) ⦠Relationships: Everard āNedā Barret, Cristofur āCrisā Barret (brothers),Ā FĆ©deryc āRicā Barret (nephew), Lia Carnet (frequented prostitute), Brigitte Mortain (interest), Ā Cassandrya āAnaā Moysaunt, Avina Moysaunt, Ivette Bryant, Elyne Drest (fellow resistance members) ⦠Description: Rob has always lived in the shadow of his older brothers. He has always felt that he was born for greatness. He never could beat anyone in a tournament, nor did he ever grow into his sea legs. In short, Rob has always been looked upon as one step up from Loys Mortain. He had been waiting patiently for the time he knew would one day come, until he realized that he must take his fate into his own hands. When his brothers went off searching for the three surviving dragon eggs, Rob went too. But he sought out DĆØzod instead. Three things he asked of him: that he should find a dragon egg, that it should hatch for him, and that his dragon would grow quickly. Forcing a dragon to hatch for someone other than their intended rider is dangerous, even to DĆØzod, but not impossible. And so DĆØzod agreed. In return, Rob would give DĆØzod three betrayals for the three things he asked. The first, would be to steal Ric away from Ned and bring him to DĆØzod. The second, is to cut out the heart of Cristofurās wife on the night of their wedding and the third, final betrayal, should be named later. Rob, blinded by his greed, gave his word that he would do these things. He believes that for Ned and Cris, their wife and child should be easily replaced. He was thankful that these betrayals could be done without his brothers knowing that he was behind them and that was enough, for he was to be a dragon rider. He was to save his people, not his brothers, and the next time that he flirted with Brigitte, she would not laugh at him. Rob also believes he can escape his deal with DĆØzod, but what he doesnāt know is that once a deal has been struck: there is no escape. DĆØzod will see Robās end of the bargain fulfilled and Rob must live with the consequences. TAKEN BY LIZZY.
And I did not become a Dragon Rider to make friends. And by the way, I havenāt.

ooc: rob/lia
Dude, Robās character is so solid. Like heās not a nice guy and I donāt per say like him, but heās so well rounded/written/idkā¦
Anyway, these two are similar in the fact that they were neglected as kids. I mean, Marsilia definitely noticed Lia, but only ever to sweep the floor or service a customer. I donāt know if that really counts as being noticed or loved. Buuuuuut that could be something that these two connected with during their early days when Rob was still a little bit kind to Lia and talked to her.Ā
Being that Lia has known Rob for so long and in such an intimate setting (both emotionally and sexually), I feel like she can probably push his buttons pretty well. Itās not like sheās a sleuth master, but after listening to dudebros bitch for so long, sheās good at nodding her head and agreeing that theyāre the coolest brother and that their shields are super shiny. ~whining men~ This brings me to my next point: after Kate AAās SUPER AMAZING summary post about the ordeal of the Aragothi drama, I definitely think Lia would think Ned Barret was the southās best bet for stability⦠but that makes things kinda weird for she and Rob. o_o Like on one hand, sheās Team Barret, but only if that has nothing to do with giving Rob power like yeeesh. She will testify in court that no one should give Rob power.Ā
i feel you -- i def do not like him at all, but heās one of my favorite characters to write ???? idk heās a mess (also just in general gonna apologize for all ic rob comments now iām so sorry for him)Ā
i honestly think that he would have really appreciated having lia tbh b/c he was picked on/neglected by everyone and he had like zero friends (and part of this is his own fault b/c heās an ass) but heās never met anyone else who was also ~neglected and abused (but in different ways, but still) & i can also see that thatās how he came to be w/ lia and only lia, b/c thereās that connection. i do feel like heās probably told her things about his own insecurities that heās never told anyone and now he def regrets it b/c he sees that as a weakness (if she ever brought them up again/either to him or anyone else heād probs deny ever having said it). also since she knows things about him that no one else does/that rob doesnāt want anyone else knowing, i feel like that alone is reason for him to mistreat her, just b/c he enjoys exerting his power over her to reassure himself that she could never hurt him/that heās the one in control in this relationship (i also think he just likes being in control in the relationship b/c itās literally like the only one he has that he can say that about ... )Ā
hahaha yeah i think so, too, tbh. also rob isnāt that hard to manipulate like all she needs to tell him that 1) the barrets are the greatest but 2) you are the greatest of them all 3) one day everyone will see and idk heās yourās. also i think that rob believes these things that heāll easily believe that she means them when she says it.Ā
hahahahah yeahhhh ned isnāt really about giving his bro power either tbh. i mean if he became king in the south, rob would be a prince but he def doesnāt plan to give him any real power tbhĀ

ooc: rob/lia
Omg, Iām getting so many Lizzy plots!!! <3 Robās storyline is rad af. I want to know what the third and final betrayal is!!! Anywho, how do you see Lia functioning in Robās life? Iām assuming that Rob holds most of the power in the relationship, so therefore I feel like itās not really up to me how Rob/Lia works out etc.
I will say this: Lia has a little bit of a dangerous streak in her. I think she and Rob share that aspect of wanting ~something more~ and maybe being so desperate for that that they end up hurting the people they love. Idk if that gives you any ideas, but there you have it. Iām still figuring out how the family tree/dragon eggs/resistance members all work out together, so I canāt offer up much more, but Lia is definitely an adventurous kind of girl, so sheās up for a lot of routes! xox
Ahhhhhh i feel so sorry for Lia but Rob is a hugggge part of that tbh. like between him and her mother ugh iām so sorry :/ (but RIGHT?!?!? Kate and I are actually still working that out tbh ;DD)Ā
Okay, so a little about Rob: heās the third kid of three and his older brothers are much older than him. Theyāve also basically been the ones running the south/keeping things from completely falling apart while itās been under Loys Mortain/Margery Mortainās rule and since the Barret parents died a long time ago, they kinda neglected Rob a little a lot. And he grew up in their shadow and just thinks that everyone looks down on him and heās so determined to prove himself to be better than his brothers (and yet he does love them in his own weird way??).Ā
And all of RobāsĀ āfriendshipsā (idk if they can be called that tbh) are relationships where he feels ~superior and in control and thatās part of the reason he keeps going back to Lia is b/c he is in control with her (heās not gonna talk about the fact that heās literally paying her but shhh). Also, I think sheās the only woman heās ever been with (although he def will tell it otherwise). I can see when he first started going to her (idk when Lia started, but I feel like Rob probably has been around pretty much the whole time tbh??) where he was idk ~softer with her and maybe they did talk about wanting a different life, but as heās gotten older heās gotten kinda twisted and he def has a one track mind tbh. Also, I think he has a lot of frustration and he probably takes a lot of that out on Lia (Iām so sorry). And I think he kinda treats her like shit anymore just b/c he can.Ā
But Rob is also kinda an idiot and heās not that hard to manipulate and if she stroked his ego heād be more bearable tbh b/c thatās all he really wants is for people to acknowledge that heās awesome???Ā
Also! I can see Lia potentially being someone who joins the resistance at some point??? Idk maybe through Ivette or Vince??? And if so omg Rob would feel so weird about that??? anyWAY, um yeah so the family tree is HELLA complicated and I actually made a myheritage site for them and put all the characters on there (lol most of them are connected somehow haha) and if you send me your email again i can invite you!Ā
Iāve killed more men than I can count. Because Iāve killed a lot of men, not because I canāt count very high.

One Day | Rob & Britta
At his quick retort, Britta arched her brows. āIād like to see that,ā said Britta, tilting her head as she pictured the look of furious incredulity on her mothers features. āMy mother has no idea whatās in store for her,ā she commented wryly. She could hardly picture Rob and Margery ever having a civil conversation and she was certain the horrific results of such an encounter would buoy her for weeks. If they were lucky, Rob would get himself banished and what a jovial wedding present that would be!
āMy champion,ā drawled the girl, rolling her eyes. Britta was not, in fact, surprised by his declaration but she couldnāt resist needling him further. āWhatever do you plan to tell her that will sway her mind? You know, Iāve been at her for weeks to no result.ā Clapping her hands together as if in an epiphany, Britta turned to him. āIāve an idea! Say to my mother that sheād be much better served in wedding me to a third son without any chance of inheritance, than to the only other lord of significance in the region. If that doesnāt inspire her to change, nothing will.ā She tilted her head softly. āAnd here is settled all my hopes upon rhyming my childrenās names with Alainon. Do you truly mean I must give up that dream?ā
Britta scowled fiercely. āYour confidence in my fertility is truly inspiring. Iāll be sure to congratulate you if Petyr gives me children.ā She turned away from him, rolling her eyes again, before turning back in surprise. āWhy do you misuse poor Petyr so? This is no more his fault than mine - granted, he had a small say in the matter which I did not butā¦He was one of the only people to be kind to you when we were children. Doesnāt that mean something to you?ā Apparently, she gathered, it did not. Sheād have to remember that kindness to Rob clearly had no perks whatsoever.
She arched her brows, turning back to him, bristling. āHow can you GIA say Petyr, who fought when called upon, and insult Alymar with the same breath when youāve done no more than he?ā Britta had always loved Harrion AMD Alymar for saying what they felt, but I. Truth sheād hardly known them. It wasnāt loyalty that goaded her so much as the injustice of it. Sheād never had much taste for hypocrisy. āAnd what of Harrion? It was said that hardly ever had a finer swordsman graced the South, yet he is gone, too. And what of his brother? What of mine? Yet āmen,ā such as you and Loys still walk this world. There is no justice and no kindness and no sense. All we can be sure of is blind chance, Rob. Donāt speak ill of the dead.ā
Satisfaction gleamed in her eyes as he rubbed his brow. āNever do what?ā She inquired. āAttempt to feed you? Give you something?ā She smiled maliciously as she bit into her own pear.
Britta swatted away his hand, backing up. āHow dare you!ā She exclaimed. āI am not yours to touch! I am the daughter of your liege lord, the sister of the next, and betrothed to another. You will not touch me.ā Fury blazed in Brittaās eyes, but she tossed her hair and exhaled. It wasnāt the informality of it - a trait she generally liked. The presumption was offensive but not so much to provoke her to anger. It was the note of self satisfaction, as if heād somehow earned intimacy outside of her permission - as if her will and opinion didnāt matter. Since her fatherās untimely death, everyone e seemed to view her that way, as if his death had stripped her of humanity and made her nothing but a pretty prize to be won.
āAs for my future, it is mine and no trifle of yours.ā Words sheād said a thousand times to her mother - she suspected her breath was just as much wasted here as it had been there. She turned quickly away from him, arms crossed in defiance - useless defiance. She wanted to laugh when she thought of what heād said. The implication that she deserved and desired Rob. If it came to that, sheād choose Petyr without a second thought. Sheād even wed Alexandir Godiva before Rob, even if it meant the risk of making Margery the proudest mother in Aragoth. But still, she had no choice of her own and it rankled her. She raised her chin arrogantly and flicked brown orbs again towards Rob. āI deserve the husband I desire and I do not see him here!ā
āAnd I will!ā He shot back.Ā āOnly ... not today ... not yet. But soon. ā He didnāt look at her as he finished, his gaze found his shoes. He knew that she would think that he was a liar. That he never meant to speak with her mother at all. But he would. And he knew that. And that was all that mattered. He looked up at her then as a dark grin overcame his features.Ā
One day, she would remember this day and know he was right. And then how silly she would feel. He had to remind himself to have patience. All would fall into place soon.Ā
āCareful.ā He said, as she mocked him.Ā āShe may not look too fondly on me now, for those reasons, but I wonāt always be just a third son, with no chance of inheritance. I wonāt always be in the shadows on my elder brothers. And when that day comes, she will beg me to take your hand.ā He paused, smirking,Ā āI may not have to go to her at all. No doubt, she will come to me.āĀ
As will you.Ā
"Petyr Alainon is a bloody idiot. He was kind to me, yes, but he was kind to everyone. His kind words meant nothing. Heād say them just as easily to me as he did to your brother. Canāt you see you will never be happy with him? Heās too trusting, too soft. Itās a miracle he survived the wars.ā He stepped closer to her again,Ā āYou need someone strong, someone who wonāt bend to every man he meets. Petyr Alainon may have pretty words, but thatās all he can offer you.āĀ
I can offer you the world. Should you like to see it? From the back of my dragon?
āYou were young when they all died. You do not know the sort of men they were.ā Harrion and Alymar were the worst sort of men. Rob had hated every moment he had ever spent in their presence. No matter what they said to him, he always could feel them laughing at him. They lived to torment him and his reputation suffered from it. They were smart and cunning and they sabotaged everything. Every duel he lost, every woman he could not catch, had been because of them.Ā
āI know you loved them,ā He said softly,Ā āBut believe me when I say, that they were the worst sort of men. This world has justice after all.āĀ
And Loys, for all of his incompetencies, was not a bad man. He had seen Robās potential all along. He may make a good ruler in time. Rob would be there to advise him, after his mother moved to the North. And surely he will look to him, as everyone once looked to Ned.Ā
He stepped back when she lashed out at him. He hated when she talked like that. Those horrible words she didnāt mean. His hands balled up into fists, but he let his anger pass. Patience, Rob, patience. She will be yourās to touch soon enough.Ā And instead of yelling, as he might have otherwise done he merely said,Ā āMy apologies. I forgot myself.ā But he smiled darkly at her again, dwelling on his secret.Ā
He smirked,Ā āYour future is your own, is it? And yet you are to marry the woman of your motherās choice? As I said, if I wish to alter your future, I will discuss it with her. And as for your future husband ... I believe he may be before you yet.āĀ
