Neil Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969. Armstrong, along with Buzz Aldrin, walked among the moon's dirt and surface rock for three hours.

I remember as a young kid watching the journey of Apollo 11 from blast-off to their return. I recall watching the Armstrong and Aldrin on TV as they carefully stepped down on the ladder to the surface of the moon.

It was one of the few times I can recall when the whole world came together as one civilization.
