Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?
Andreasâs was the only child for a very long time. His siblings werenât born until he was 12 and his father remarried. Heâs not very close to the older of the two sisters because he was an angry teenager who really hated having new siblings. But, the youngest is 4 years old, and despite not really liking children, Andreas is rather fond of her and heâll never admit it but they have some awesome Barbie Fashion Shows. He has sewn clothes for her dolls.
What is/was your characterâs relationship with their mother like?
TERRIBLE. He refers to her as âThe Womanâ and hasnât seen her in ten years. He may have spoken to her on the phone, but couldnât recall when. Growing up, he was either with his dad, grandmother, or nannies. He loves his nannies, keeps in contact with them now even. He doesnât understand why people think nannies means sub-parenting cause to him sub-parenting is done by shitty parents, like his mother, not nannies. Itâs fair to say heâs a little bitter.
What is/was your characterâs relationship with their father like?
They get along well enough. His father was the person who instilled in him a strict work ethic, but that also means he wasnât around often when Andreas was growing up. His dad was also a strict disciplinary which probably explains why Andreas is anal retentive as he is.
Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?
Not yet. Heâs due for a moment like that though. So far his life has gone according to how he planned it. There were small moments that have inspired him or pushed him in a certain direction, but nothing that counts as life altering. Heâs a stubborn and determined person and he may have witnessed something life altering and somehow convinced himself it wasnât that important just so he can avoid growing as a person.
On an average day, what can be found in your characterâs pockets?
His wallet, car keys and home keys. He will never keep anything else in there. He doesnât like how certain things make his pants bulge.
Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams/Nightmares?
He doesnât dream often. Heâs had some worrying stress dreams about his teeth falling (he grinds them in his sleep when really stressed) or about failing to achieve a task.
What is your characterâs biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?
Heâs extremely selfish. His needs come first and itâs not daily needs really, but his work is more important than his partnerâs work, he expects them to bend to his schedule and be available when he needs them, but he rarely if never returns the favor. It has ended more than one relationship and this isnât limited to romantic relationships. His friendships have suffered due to this as well.
How easy or difficult is it for your character to say âI love you?â Can they say it without meaning it?
This is just a no, at least not when he means it. Andreas never says I love you to those he actually loves. Itâs even debatable if he loves anyone at all. Well, he loves his grandmother very much, but itâs very possible that his inability to tell people he loves them is due to her. They believe that when love is there, words are unnecessary. Heâs definitely said it to Danielle, whether he means it is debatable, but they are engaged so thatâs close enough to love isnât it?
His whole family goes to his fatherâs house in Nantucket for Easter. Thatâs including his grandmother, his stepmother, and his half siblings (aptly nicknamed thing one and thing two).Â
They arrive at the house on Thursday just in time for Andreas and his grandmother to attend the Holy Thursday service. Andreas isnât particularly religious, or at all for that matter, but he loves going to church and gossiping about everyone else there with his grandmother.Â
Friday:Â
Andreas spends his morning working from home until Danielle arrives at around 4 or 5pm.Â
They have an early dinner together before joining his grandmother for service yet again. They canât miss Good Friday. The whole family attends this service including Things 1 and 2.Â
Saturday:Â
This day is reserved for Andreas and Danielle to do âcoupleâ things. Andreas insists on going sailing. Depending on the weather, Danielle will join him. If she does not, they meet up at around 11am for brunch.Â
Brunch is followed by shopping and meeting up with friends they donât get to see often.
There is always someone throwing a party which they attend.
Sunday:
Despite being hungover, Andreas drags his ass to church for Easter service with Grandma.Â
After, they join the rest of the family for the egg hunt at the country club along with most adult activities. The time is spent schmoozing with investors and pretending theyâre Kennedys.Â
Andreas always drives back that night not wanting to miss any important meetings the following day.Â
