The idea behind this video is how knowledge of the law lets you make amazing things. Conservation of momentum + strong magnets = miracle. There are decades of research and development behind those 48 seconds of fun. Someone had to figure out all aspects of science behind this simple rail gun including intuitive ones as conservation of momentum and complicated ones as making neodymium magnets. What seems to us as pretty simple actually took hundreds of years to be discovered. Let's appreciate that effort of our ancestors, because this effort is why we live in the age of miracles such as internet and antibiotics.

Time and motion.

I really like how time and motion are represented in static works. It could be also nicely done in 4D art, but in this case time and motion are less impressive because the medium by itself define their presence. In 3d and 2d works they are unexpected , surprising and, because of it, powerfull. I'm totally getting why we are talking about time and motion in the same chapter, but I do not understand why we have space in the other chapter. I feel like science has great art potencial and could open us new horizons of expression. So it is good idea to thing about time and space in context of relativity, or at least in the book about art. P.S. Those simulacrum of pyramids where kind of cool idea.

projection: vanishing and becoming

I always was excited about the relation between art and death. It is hard to ignore. I believe that the art literally was born as part of cult of the dead. For instance, there is only one step from funeral mask to sculpture. I 'm finding quite interesting that a lot of art students on our campus really like to draw zombies and skulls. It could be related to the subject ot the esay XD. Anyway, I think that the author have lost main point of everything what's going on on this planet. Art is evolving thru centuries. This revolution is similar to evolution of life on Earth. Even more, art as well as science is logical conclusion of billions years of evolution, and both are information ( or knowledge) traveling thru the time. We are just a part of informational wave traveling thru time and space. Art is about life and death just when you look on it really subjective. I think if someone would be able to observe us for few generations he/she would definitely see stable development rather than death.
