what a WEEK. went to all my lectures n sems at uni. worked 2 shifts. had an annual meetin thing w my tutor. went to bodybalance for the first time in a looong time so it was hard but i was so relaxed afters !! had a politics ball where we boogied at the local museum. saw ghetts at lakota. yday watched get out then stayed up til 5am chillin n talking. monday feels like forever ago. lectures n everythin are done for first year which is so surreal. time for the last slog n then summerrrr

conflating racism w/ the supposed mental illness of the perpetrators not only tries to absolve the perpetrators of responsibility for what is often v. calculated, divisive behaviour but also portrays those who are mentally ill as inherently dangerous n ostracises them further. not to mention tht it ignores the negative consequences of racism on the mental health of poc. so can we just stop that thank u

my dad was picking me up from the airport in the dark and i didn’t know how he’d find me in the massive carpark so i just said “i’m dressed in all black and i’ve got a big suitcase” and he just said “i’m wearing all black too” we are a goth family

i usually handle being embarrassed quite well cos am really clumsy and just in general able to poke fun at myself etc but are u ever so embarrassed u just really need the ground to swallow u up lol

had the fucking weirdest sleep last night. i remembered having 3 weird dreams when i woke up, and i’ve forgotten one of them now. one of the other two was very clearly related to something my friend and i were discussing near when i went to sleep - it sucked but there’s a clear explanation. but the third one omg. i fully thought somebody was in my room? like i felt someone touch me and it woke me up? but no-one was there and my door was locked so no-one could have got in anyway and i didn’t recognise the person i saw lol.

am a bit of a Mess this week but my sem tutor (also lecturer for this module) took me to have tea with her after i went to see her at the end and just sat and chatted to me for a while. i would love to not feel guilty about it but more importantly, how lovely is that

last night was v weird and wonderful and i laughed til my cheeks were hurting which is always a good sign. there were 3 of us and we met these 3 middle aged people who were essentially older versions of us which was too strange. it was like looking into the future haha. which culminated in this married man with children telling me i’ll go far in life because i’m warm and compassionate and sincere lol ego boost !! also, drunk me is somehow more with it than sober me, in the sense that i went to the toilet and realised the reason i had had to constantly be wary of my jumpsuit slipping down was cos it was on fucking backwards. so i had to like switch it round while also holding my coat cos there was no hook in the cubicle (there was 10/10 toilet graffiti to read in the process tho). everyone’s fave walking embarrassment 2k17. in my defense it’s plain grey and has a v neck front nd back so u would never know. h/e the biggest atrocity of all was that i spent a whole £7.85, a whole 7 pounds and 85 pence, on a double g&t. just southern things :))))

The ACLU was able to halt the Muslim Ban for the time being. The stay is only temporary but it means that Trump’s executive order can’t be implemented and that all current detainees at airports need to be released.

If you have the means to, please donate to the ACLU. The fight is just beginning.

it’s my first week back at uni. mondays this term i am in 10-6 hahaha (with gaps obvi but not big enough to go home). but it’s good cos you’ve got a big chunk of stuff out of the way and it’s only the start of the week. was so nice to catch up with my course pals properly ! tuesday was good. i went to my seminar, then straight to yoga, then changed into some jeans in the su toilets lol and popped to bath lol and had dinner/a couple drinkz w my pal. made it to my seminar the next morning, then chilled a lil bit at uni and met my flatmate for a bodybalance class n a trip to this peng cafe we saw on someone’s instagram lol, it was sooo lovely. came back, got changed, did me a shift at work, finished up there and went out for my friend’s bday which was v v fun ! had a 9am seminar this morning nd now finally sitting down and chillin b4 going back 2 uni later. might go to a reggae night tonight. have people’s bday things this weekend/chinese new year!

still cant get over introducing myself to this white american girl i met at uni nd her telling me her best friend from home was called vibha and us being shocked because it’s rare and her then telling me the full name of this gal and the small town theyre from in the US as if there's some kind of worldwide vibha(a) network and i would know her lool
