Gina had gotten lost in her photography lately, something soothing about being behind a lens again and she used every opportunity she could to wander around with it in hand. In her own little world, the blonde didn't notice the other woman as she passed by until she called out and Gina stops, a momentarily look of confusion on her face until she spots who spoke. "Oh, h-hi. It is, I think if I d-don't see another storm for a while I-I'll be happy." Gina adds with a smile.
"Gosh..isn't that the truth! I'm so grateful that neither my shop or house was damaged in everything that happened" Daisy agreed with a friendly smile. While she didn't really know the other girl she did recongnize her from around. She was claimed by that pretty vampire who owned the antique shop, if she wasn't mistaken. Seeing her camera, Daisy's interest was piqued. "What are you taking pictures of today? You're Gina, right? You live with Miss Grace"
@andrews-gina
Gina smiles, happy that another person's home managed to stay unscathed throughout it all. "We must be s-some of the lucky ones." She adds and when the other woman points out her camera, the blonde looks down at her hands and suddenly feels a little self conscious but when didn't she. "Anything and everything, c-could I take some of you?" She asks with a look that said she wouldn't be offended if the woman said 'no'. "I-I do!" Gina beams at the mention of Grace, a small blush spreading across her cheeks. "Back o-over there." She motions in the direction then back at Daisy. "I think I've s-seen you around with Dhani, d-do you live together?"
The last few days had passed in a fog. Dhani had had to leave in such a hurry that they'd barely had a chance for a proper goodbye. Simply a decision that she should stay and finish her doctorate and a promise to find each other when she graduated and then..he was gone. Six years. They had been together for six years, and now she was alone. Violet and Lily were gone, and she hadn't seen Dakota in weeks. The sunny witch wasn't one to wallow in self-pity but that's exactly what she had been doing. Today though she finally showered and shed her pajamas, putting on her most cheerful sundress and taking Topaz outside with her to work in her garden. Baking had failed to cheer her up so maybe this would work. After a while it did, and when someone passed by her cottage she was able to give a small smile and a half-hearted wave.
"Hi, pretty day today huh?"

Tessa turned promptly as she heard the sound, though not with the same fear that she usually had. It felt liberating not wanting to run. More so, as soon as she locked eyes with the culprit, she realized that she did not have to. How many opportunities had she wasted to be strong? If she had run, she would not have known that this wasn’t a guard or a Master who was out to get her. “Sorry for what?”
Gina felt like she'd just ruined the other woman's quiet moment, an apologetic look on her face as she slowly lifts her foot off the branch and back onto a less noisy part of the ground. "Y-You looked...focused?" The blonde adds, unable to verbalise what she was thinking. "I didn't m-mean to disturb you."

Young Madeline Usher - The Fall Of The House Of Usher
To say that Freddie wasn't best pleased was an understatement. He hadn't wanted to leave his mum in the first place, and to arrive somewhere that seemed to be some kind of active warzone and immediately be collared and degraded was... Well, it felt pretty bad. He'd thought about demanding to drop out immediately and go straight home, but what would he say to his mother when he got there? The money that they would be on the line for alone was vomit-inducing, and there was little chance of him finding another placement elsewhere. All told, the fact that when the administration had got to the last item on the list: magical creatures, Freddie had taken the revelation like a champ. He wanted to hit things, hit people, but pissing people off immediately felt like a terrible idea. Instead, he'd taken himself to the beach with his sketch book, hoping he could sit in splendid solitude for a few hours before being obliged to process what was happening to him. He huffed, blowing bits of eraser off the paper as he worked. It was angry, abstract pencil marks, almost like a cave painting in its construction of shapes, people made out of harsh triangles, layered on top of one another to convey movement. He paused a moment to look out across the water at the horizon. What the fuck had he got himself into now?
Gina was trying to go back to the things that made her happy, trying to find a way to move on after what had happened. It brought her here to the beach with a camera cradled against her chest. She slowly walks down the shoreline, her vision mostly through the lens finder until she turns and realises she's in between the sea and a person clearly drawing. "S-Sorry." She says with an awkward smile, looking side to side before deciding to back up the way she came and hopefully stop blocking his view.
Willa Fitzgerald as Madeline Usher in The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)
There were great advantages to being unimportant. One could get away from doing what was expected of them. She could disappear for hours at a time. People would notice, of course. Sometimes there were consequences. Yet even the guards would have to admit that her disappearance did not cause much inconvenience. The school got along just fine without her. In fact, she thought it tended to do a little bit better when she wasn’t around.
That the whole island was a mess only gave her more freedom and privacy. Tessa wasn’t scared anymore. She had cried in her shelter and hid with the others. Now that it was over, there was suddenly space for other emotions. The emptiness was something she had been afraid of too. How would she feel when the attack was over? What would the future look like?
Not so different, Tessa thought to herself now. The headmaster had died right in front of her. She had never seen a person kill another, had never even seen a man die. His death was perhaps meaningful but she realized that it meant nothing to her. The school would be rebuilt and the same rules would be enforced. Nothing mattered. If all the plotting, destruction and deaths had not made a difference to this system, she was certain, that her actions would be truly insignificant. And she was so at peace with that.
Maybe for the first time, she allowed herself to explore. Her hands were dirtied from the soil and debris as she picked up another piece and threw it in the sea. It made the most diverse patterns of ripples and splashes, sometimes blending into one large, dynamic picture, if she was quick enough to launch a stone at the right place.
But like her art, her solitude wasn’t meant to last forever. Not long after the last stones sunk to the bottom, she noticed the presence of another person nearby.
Gina felt like she was floating around, unable to help or fix anything yet feeling like she needed to keep busy. With that unsettled feeling in her stomach, she sets off with no destination in mind, no off-limit areas at the moment from the message she'd received. She tried not to make too much noise when she saw the other woman, but her feet tripped on and snapped a loud twig that made her very obviously there. "S-Sorry." She says with an apologetic smile.
[text from Grace] My dearest, we will be having some guests for a bit. I have opened our home to those who need shelter. I hope you do not mind!
[text] Do not feel that you need to do anything though, you must rest!
Text; Okay, are you sure? I could make some welcome treats or tidy up some?
[text] Oh worry not darling, I have made certain that the house and pets are in order.
[text] Should you wish to make something I will of course not tell you no! I simply did not want you to feel like you had to do anything.
[text] I hope that this is alright with you? I know we have all been through a trauma, and you and I have much to discuss. We will make time. You have my word.

Matt frowned a little and shook her head. “I don’t believe you,” he murmured. He reached his hand up, and dragged the back of his fingers down her jawline. “I’m here for you,” he told her. “No matter what. Whatever you’re feeling, and whatever I need to do to help you…I’m here, Gina. Things got…dark there for a minute, and I get that. But, you have me.”
Gina keeps her lips pressed tightly together when tears threaten to fall again, his kindness feeling undeserved after what she’d done. He could easily see right through her attempts at defence and deflection and it killed her that he was so good to her. “I-I don’t know...” The blonde mumbles, unable to bring herself to verbalise how she felt as she wipes at her eyes. “I s-shouldn’t have a-anyone.”
