“That’s true, it is. I have to schedule my next appointment actually, thanks for reminding me. I’ve had to reschedule the last two, it’s driving me crazy.” She smiles.  “I definitely understand that, yeah.  It’s a very strange thing, but I suppose it could be worse. I haven’t had to deal with morning sickness, at least.” She nods. “I guess I found them fascinating first time I saw them. It depends on what you grew up with.”

“Oh, I only have one appointment on Tuesday morning, if you’re free that day. Any time after 10 a.m., you can just come in and ask for me.” She gives a little groan. “Oh, lucky you,” she says, with a little giggle. “I had morning sickness for the first three months or so. And let me tell you, morning sickness is an absolute misnomer.” She smiles. “I understand that. Some of them can be really beautiful.” She gives a little laugh. “I mean photography in general, not just my wedding photos.”

“You’re not that much older than me. You’re what, twenty-six now?”

“Twenty-six as of today, yes. It still seems like quite a big gap when you mention you’re still a teenager.”

“That’s so cute!” James looks close to tears with excitement. Will his kid do things like this? He hopes so. It’s adorable. “It’s very stylish.”

Andy gives a soft giggle. “Thank you,” she says, laughing. “She can probably make you and Lily a matching pair if you’d like.”

“Do you want to skip your birthday? I guess it’d suck to skip my birthday, I don’t wanna’ be a teenager forever.”

“Oh, Merlin, you’re still a teenager. I forgot about that. I’m old.”

She laughs. “Can’t say I’m looking forward to that,” she admits. “I could live without the crying.  At least at work, I hate crying at work. I just hide in my office until it passes.” She raises her eyebrows. “Really? I always forget muggles don’t have things like that. I think there’s a potion you can dip them in to make them move.”

Andy giggles. “My work is a little more lenient, but then again, it’s mostly women. Weirdly I don’t remember crying at work, usually I cried because Ted was being sweet.” She laughs. “I realize that makes no sense but I assume you of all people can understand at the moment.” She nodded. “There are a few moving pictures, but mostly they’re stationary. Tonks finds them fascinating.”

“Does that mean we skip right to my birthday again? Ooh, I’ll be 27, I don’t know.”

"Oh, well, Tonks made this for me -- with Ted’s help, of course. It was originally just beads and candy wrappers and little bits and bobs on a string, but Ted put a spell on it so it won’t fall apart or get damaged.” She touched the handmade necklace that hung around her neck and smiled. “It might be my favorite birthday present, ever.”

“I think it just startles Frank, I never cry. Or rarely. Definitely not this much.” She wipes her face again. “I’ve got so many pictures to add to this, I practically made a flipbook of them at the wedding, and on our honeymoon.”

Andy smiles softly. “I have to warn you, that’s going to last for a while,” she says. “Once after Tonks was born I cried because the zipper on the skirt I wanted to wear got caught.” She smiles. “You know, I don’t have many Wizarding pictures of my wedding. My mother in law arranged the photographer and he was a Muggle.”

“I mean she’s not wrong, that is pretty funny. Ah, don’t let her meet my dumbass dog, then. Galileo loves broccoli.” 

“Really? I didn’t think dogs would go for broccoli so much. Or any vegetable, really. Maybe she’ll eat them if I tell her that your dog like them. She loves dogs.”

“Ah, well I can avoid the scandal bit in that by not being a pureblood. Fortunately his family have yet to hold that against me, but hey, the night’s young. I don’t think I could do anything to beat you and Sirius, though. You’re like scandal celebrities.”

“You’re far more apart of that society than I am. Or really than I ever was, when it comes to being an active participant and not just a little show pony. We try, we try. Sirius would probably love to hear that.”

“Probably would’ve been  a more foolproof  plan if you had  a pet  to eat it off the floor, instead of just rogue broccoli floating around, but still. That kid’s a genius.”

“Well, she is six, so a broccoli floating about and tapping her mother on the head is the height of wit. So I think she wouldn’t have given it to a pet even if we had one.”

“Oh, Andromeda! That’s so sweet.”  She takes the photo album, feeling her eyes start to water as she looks at it. “Sorry, I’ve hit the everything makes me cry portion of things.” She wipes at her face with her sleeve. “This is really lovely, thank you.”

Andy gives a soft laugh. “Oh, I remember that phase,” she said. “Poor Ted was always so guilty. I tried to tell him it wasn’t really his fault, but you know Ted.” She smiles softly. “Of course, you’re welcome.”

“Honestly I was thinking about asking my boyfriend to move in with me. Slightly scandalous, but it’s been over a year now. If I don’t push him, who will?”

“Well, if it makes you feel any better, when it comes to pureblood scandal, it’s hard to top Sirius and me. So asking your boyfriend to move in with you is rather traditional in comparison.”

“Oh, dear.” Andy frowned sympathetically. “How did you get it off?”

“Aw, I love this! It’s going up on the fridge, it’s adorable. I particularly like how she drew my hair as actual flames.” Lily giggles. “Oh, thank you so much! We were kind of counting on getting hand-me-downs from Sarah and Edgar, but apparently they’re pregnant again, so they’re going to need everything. This will be amazing, I’m sure we’ll use all of it!”

Andy laughs softly. “Yes, she’s fascinated by red hair. She spends a lot of time around the Weasley kids as well. Although ironically it’s the only color she hasn’t turned her hair -- she usually sticks to unnatural colors when she does that.” She smiles. “You’re welcome! Goodness, are they really? They’re working on quite a large family. Oh good, I’m glad. It’s been up in our attic for ages -- I mean, I washed it before I gave it to you, of course -- but still.”
