      i’m  NOTHING  SPECIAL.     in  fact,   i’m  a  bit  of  a  bore.     if  i  tell  a  joke,   you’ve probably  heard  it  before.     but  i  have  a  talent,   a  wonderful  thing   :   everyone  listens     when  i  start  to  sing!    i’m  so  grateful  and  proud.   all  i  want  is  to  sing  it  out  loud.                                                                      so  i  say :

 thanks  for  all  the  joy  they’re  bringing.      who  can  live  without  it,   i  ask  in  all  honesty,   what  would  life  be?     without  a  song  or  a  dance,   what  are  we?    so  i  say  THANK                                       YOU  FOR  THE  MUSIC,   for  giving  it  to  me.

It is no great secret that Rita Hanson adores people. She treasures the connections she’s made through her life, and sees nurturing them as one of her greatest joys. It is also no great secret that she doesn’t need to have something obvious in common with someone to befriend them - she is a firm believer in the idea that you can find common ground with just about anyone, if you approach life with an open mind and an open heart.

What she really loves, though, is when her friends surprise her. When people she thinks she knows inside out manage to catch her off guard in the best kind of way - or, as has happened in this case, when a throwaway comment reminds her of a shared piece of their lives that they’ve somehow never discussed.

“You know, we’ve never swapped notes about being students in Paris. How have we not done that yet?”

           granted,   harry’s  personal  life  has  always  managed  to  be  ONE  GREAT  MYSTERY,   to  nearly  everyone  he  could  call  a  friend.     it’s  not  intentionally  so,   he’s  just  never  quite  been  one  to  broadcast  his  experiences  or  offer  them  up  out  of  the  blue  or  otherwise  unprovoked.     passing  mentions,   sure.    ( that’s  how  most  people  learned  of  his  partner,   after  all. )    but  save  for  his  immediate  family   -   sophie,  nigel,  donna,  the  other  moms  and  dads  -  little  regard  is  ever  made  to  his  rock - star  life,   his  childhood,   his  education.

          ❛ HUH !     well,   i’m  certainly  surprised  it’s  never  seemed  to  have  come  up  before.     how  long  were  you  there? ❜

i  miss  writing  harry  +  writing  with  people,     so  i  think  my  new  goal  is  to,   similar  to  most  of  my  other  blogs,   just  resolve  to  check  this  blog  ONCE  a  week,   probably  saturday  or  sunday,   and  get  as  much  done  as  i  can  then !!      it’s  been  a  rough  time,   but  this  blog  is  the  positivity  i  really  need  now
