Paper dolls and people, they are similar shapes
This just happened.
I liked last years new Twitter video better. (I'm just as guilty as that dude when it comes to Tweeting during a super romantic date)
I guess it's that time of year when everyone starts reflecting back on the year in music. And I am no exception. My favourite music video of 2011 is this great, intense, and incredibly animated one for Fleet Foxes' The Shrine/An Argrument.
"Sandwiches"
We should all try to be a little more like Ron Swason
Bonus points for the hockey in the background.
Lana Del Ray. She could tone down the whiskey-soaked-Jessica-Rabbit-sexual-napalm schtick. But her voice is undeniably damn good.
chiarabella:
yep. this song was made for them.
amazing.
Woah. Only Arkells could take a cheesy 80's song and legitimately make it sound awesome.
Noel Gallagher playing Supersonic at the Virgin Mobile Mod Club. Pretty amazing if you ask me. Not my video, we just couldn't get close enough.
Arkells - Kiss Cam (Live @ Dakota Tavern Release Party, October 18, 2011)
i didn’t take any video that night because it just didn’t feel right. obviously the dude behind us thought differently. i think that’s the back of @andyalexanderr’s head throughout the entire song.
Confirmed. That most certainly is the back of my head just bobbing along, and enjoying that song.

This… is… going… to… be… a… great… show!!!
I think this is arguably Feist's best song to date
Polaris
I've been thinking about this more than the average person probably should. Who is my pick for the Polaris Music Prize this year? Some of these records I just can't get into. The Weeknd, Austra, Colin Stetson, Braids, Galaxie. Two of them I love Arcade Fire, and Hey Rosetta. I've been flipping back and forth between the two because The Suburbs is kind of the elephant in the room. Arcade Fire is massive, they aren't performing during the gala, it's the easy pick. It's been really hard to say that album should win because we've defined (or at least I have) the Polaris Prize as the award that gives recognition to the little guys or girls who deserve to be recognized. And help them financially to continue on. The award is based on "highest artistic integrity" without putting into consideration critical success and album sales. But maybe this year they should be looking at that from the other perspective. Just because it has sold a shit load and won best fucking album should we automatically dismiss The Suburbs? They don't need the $30,000. And I'm sure they'll donate it to charity. And that's what I'm going with. It deserves it no matter what we think the Polaris is about. In my humbled opinion I still think its the best album I've heard in the past few years. (I apologize in advance for jinxing Arcade Fire. I've never been right with my Polaris pick)
