Hello, I'm Madison and go by she/her. I'm a 20 year old side A bisexual and demisexual Catholic. I also like using the term "sapphic." I view my queer identity as a gift from God as it makes me feel closer to Him.

I created this side blog to post about my faith and repost whatever I like. I love the Lord with my whole heart and I try my best to please Him. My favorite saint is St. Francis of Assisi so I might post about him from time to time. I was baptized into the church when I was an infant but I didn't follow religion for a good portion of my life. So please understand and go easy on me if I make a mistake when discussing the faith.

My page is not an invitation for political debates, so please keep your conservatism to yourself. It is also not for atheists and other religions to say mean things about my faith. There is nothing wrong with having different opinions when I make rant posts but do not complain about it in my comments. Disrespect = deleted and blocked as I don't want to put up with it. I've been going insane lately. I have this issue that when I go through a breakup, I always have this "I didn't lose them, they lost me" mindset. I get this desire to be better (not in a good way. In a thinking I'm better than them and their next relationship and needing to show off what they lost type of way). I had a breakup back in February yet my mind is still full of this desire despite not even liking my ex anymore. I know it's not healthy and that I did behave wrongly at times in the relationship but I still can't find a way to fix my mindset. I can't stand being imprisoned by my ego.

I'd appreciate some prayers in hopes that I can find a way to escape this mindset and open my heart up to forgiveness so I can let go of obsession. I know the Lord doesn't want this behavior of me and it makes me feel bad. Thank you to anyone who prays ❤️

I try so hard to be a good Christian but I honestly just want to die. It always comes back to that. I never wake up and want to be here. Pray for me if you have a moment. I don't have many options anymore. I'm dealing with severe illness, poverty, intimate coercion in my living situation. I'm living a nightmare. Life is not good for me.

I feel like there is something so aesthetic and symbolic about when I take off my scapular so I can shower and there is an imprint of a crucifix and the St. Benedict medal on my breast from the medals.

It's like a visual representation that God's presence, love, and protection is always with me even on my body.

If the story of King David's firstborn isn't proof that you can be pro-choice and Christian, then I don't know what is. People who claim the child of a rapist is still a gift from God completely ignore the fact that this story tells you that children conceived through sin aren't gifts and that the sinner doesn't deserve them. If God can do it, you should be able to do it to a non-living fetus.

Someone said "God also killed adults, so that means we should kill adults too?" I, of course, deleted their comment as they were being disrespectful. The story of King David's firstborn is not comparable to killing adults. Not once did I mention killing adults. Notice how I said "NON-LIVING fetus?" I may be a Christian, but I don't reject science. It is scientifically proven that a fetus isn't alive until a certain stage. Abortions are done before this stage, therefore not killing the baby. Faith in God should not be the rejection of science and God never told you to reject science. Plus, I was using the bible to disprove the rumor that even children conceived through sinful actions are gifts from God. Are you going to fight with the bible?

A person can choose to keep their rapist's baby, I don't mind that because pro-choice means choosing whether or not you want an abortion. But forcing a rape victim into having a child makes you no better than the rapist because you clearly support rape if you have this mentality and have no care in the world for the mental health of the victim. It is also cruel on the child because when they grow up and ask who their father is, they have to find out the horrible news that they were conceived through rape and the result of their mother's suffering.

It's funny how I see pro-"lifers" being upset about abortions because of how "cruel" it is but not about animal hunters who view hunting as a game, there being no laws for gun control to protect children and teachers, no one in the government trying to stop wars, etc. It's only cruel when it's a woman trying to take care of herself, right? Do you really care about what God thinks or do you care about having control?

"Christianity is built on fear."

It really isn't. The fear is from taking the words of people seriously when you really shouldn't. All of that fear has come from humans, not God. Humans can't send you to Hell, so don't listen to any human that says you are going there. You should also take into consideration that "fear" in the Bible means following God, not literally fearing him. Genuine fear of him is not what he wants. He wants mutual love. The Bible was written centuries ago so things are worded differently than they would be worded now.

In genuine Christian teaching, extreme guilt is not viewed as the work of God. It is viewed as a trick to keep you from loving God. Let's take into consideration that all of the saints never lived perfect lives and they never viewed themselves as worthy of becoming saints. They made the same mistakes that you and I probably have like skipping prayer out of sloth, saying negative gossip, etc., but they didn't shame themselves into viewing themselves as mistakes that God hated. They viewed these mistakes as trials that they could use as examples to try and get better for God. God doesn't expect perfection because no one is perfect. He wants you to learn, explore, and try again if you fail. That shows character building and determination.

So please don't ever think God hates you or is mad at you. He loves all of his children and would never want you to think he doesn't. If you do ever think this, talk it out with him to express your concerns rather than running. This can probably make you feel better.

I feel like using "👍" as a reaction to posts in communities on here is the equivalent to saying "ok, don't care." Like could you respond with anything more boring and emotionless? Its like the person is acknowledging you but actually couldn't give a care in the world about what you have to say or show 😭

I'm am so sick of misconceptions about the annunciation of Mary that people make up just so they can find something to fight about.

1. Mary being a child

Absolutely no proof whatsoever and her age was not stated in the Bible. But, her cousin, Elizabeth, was stated to be of old age and Mary went to take care of her during her pregnancy of John the Baptist. Why would Mary not be around Elizabeth's age? Also, why would a child assist a grown woman with her pregnancy? Also, people claim that Joseph was a pedophile despite the Bible explaining that pedophilia is a sin. Her being a child is also not in any church teaching and she is always depicted as an adult.

2. Mary never consented

Loud incorrect buzzer! Luke 1:36 clearly states Mary saying "Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word." This is called the Annunciation of Mary and her agreement was the start of Jesus's reign. The Bible is very clear that humans have free will and therefore can make their own choices. If Mary was uncomfortable with the idea, she could've stated such. Archangel Gabriel was respectful to her throughout the whole conversation.

3. Mary was a victim of rape

Absolutely not. Luke 1:34-35 goes like this: "Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God." This was Archangel Gabriel letting Mary know that the birth of Jesus would not be the loss of her virginity. The definition of rape is such "Rape is defined in most jurisdictions as sexual intercourse, or other forms of sexual penetration, committed by a perpetrator against a victim without their consent." Once again, Archangel Gabriel made it known that she would remain a virgin and therefore not have to commit any sexual acts. God as the Father and Holy Spirit is also omnipresent so he is not a physical being. He has no genitalia or romantic/sexual attraction to his creations. There is no way for God to rape a human being so it is ridiculous to accuse him of doing so. And once again, Mary fully consented to having Jesus.

So, you do not have to believe in Christianity but you have no right to lie about the scriptures or Christian teachings just so you can have a reason to be mad at Christianity.
