A Green Creek Explanation for the Uninitiated:

Green Creek is a series of romance novels (stick with me here) about a werewolf pack (plz don’t flee yet) in the pacific northwest (i swear its nothing like twilight) that is actually really good and lovely. The first book fis about a boy named Ox who has trouble feeling like he belongs and has very low self-confidence, who goes on to befriend a werewolf family that loves and accepts him, and he eventually falls in love with one of them. Also there’s an evil werewolf at some point but i’m not here for the plot i’m here for the found family fluff.

found family vibes are off the charts. Like you know that fanart trope where you have all the characters in a cuddle pile? That happens. In canon. Several times. 

characters all genuinely care about one another. The friendship and brotherly love is just >>>. Elizabeth and Maggie? Iconic duo. Carter and Kelly? I’m literally crying right now just thinking about them. also everyone

The characters, y’all. people you want to root for. Ox is shy and unsure of himself but he really just wants to help people and do the right thing. Gordo is a dramatic bitch and i adore him. Elizabeth is my queen. The ladies? All badass. I could go on. 

Do you love side characters? Do you hate when a couple is broken up for drama in the sequel? Well, good news! Every book is from a different perspective, so many of your beloved side characters get to be main characters later, and established couples avoid drama and are adorable.

Straights? In my werewolf pack? Less likely than you think.

But in all seriousness, if you are looking for LGBTQ+ characters, it will not disappoint. We got gay wolves, bi wolves, ace wolves, aro wolves, wolves in a qpr, it just does. not. stop. not side characters, main characters. In the words of the author: “This pack is a goddamn pride parade.”

I could totally see cat & Laila asking Jeremy if they could put brown eyeliner on him because it would look “SOOOOOOO good Jeremy so good just trust me” . And then Jean would come home and walk in on them and he’d be like ??? And then Jeremy would turn around and Jean would have to leave immediately. And Jeremy would be like oh it must be real ugly . And jeans over here fighting for his life

Cat and Laila are telling him it looks good but Jeremy shakes his head and asks for a makeup wipe. Jean comes back to see the makeup off and goes “You took it off?” Jeremy says “yeah, I didn’t think it looked good.” Jean, fighting for his life, just simply says “It suited you.”

Jeremy starts blushing and dying inside. When did Jean become so bold? He doesn’t know the rules have changed. That Jean is allowing himself to look.

I want Jeremy SUFFERING in book 3. But not the way u think. Jean is already challenging the rules in his head . And I guarantee he’ll start to let himself look longer. I want Jeremy to smile and Jean to study him like he’s trying to memorize every crinkle beside his eyes, every twinkle in his gaze. I want him to get caught staring at Jeremy in the shower and for him to keep looking after he’s found out. I want Jeremy to take off his shirt to try for Jean’s attention again but this time it works and Jean just isn’t looking away. And this is what Jeremy wanted but there is a furious flush rising to his face and if he thought Jean between his legs was bad this is worse. I want him to make another sexual comment and have Jean slowly walk toward him and crowd him against the wall and tell him to prove it. I want Jeremy a flustered mess!!!!!! I want the Jean from the banquet in TRK!!!!!!

Thinking about how Jeremy called him needing to leave the banquet & using that phrase a “tantrum”. Especially since we know he already thinks his trauma & emotions are “childish”. :(((((((

Jeremy being so dismissive towards his own pain is so... 😭 because what right does he have (in his mind) to feel hurt or upset when others have suffered so much worse than him? What right does he have to break down or fall apart when it was his own mistakes that cost him everything?

How can he look Jean in the eye, knowing that Jean has endured worse - infinitely, unfathomably worse - than Jeremy ever has, and yet Jean is picking up the pieces and getting better, even as Jeremy is stagnating? How could he ever hope for someone to love him, when he's been stuck in the same place for years, unable to move forward and yet terrified to slip up again? How can he expect anyone to want him, to choose him, especially someone like Jean Moreau?

It must because Jeremy is weak, has always been weak. Even as a child, his emotions had always gotten the better of him. A weak, soft-spined failure. Jean's circumstances were not of his own doing, but Jeremy created his own demons and fed them with a smile on his face. It's entirely his own fault, Jeremy is sure. Everything always is.
