My name is Chrissi and I love Angela Bassett (surprise!)

3 years ago I took it upon myself to start a YouTube channel dedicated to my favorite actress to post all the clips of her that I felt were missing on that platform. Angela Bassett Archives has since expanded to not just videos on YouTube but also an update account on Twitter, where I share all the latest news on her, as well as archival gems.

Since Angela doesn't have many blogs dedicated to her on here either, I've been playing with the thought of cross-posting here to interact more with the Tumblr side of her fandom. However, even though I have been on Tumblr since 2016, I still haven't quite figured this site/app out so this is an experiment.

It is quite possible that after a few days or weeks I realize I'm not built for sharing news on this site and for this I apologize in advance. In that case I might just end up reblogging gif sets of her when I feel like it. It would be super cool, though, if I do manage to stay active on here. Any tips or advice are welcome and my ask box is always open for all things related to Angela :)

Aside from running my little social media accounts, I am also actively building an archive of Angela's career on my computer, which includes videos, photos, movies/TV shows, audios, documents (scripts, articles, books), etc. which is why I chose this name :)

I try to share as much of my archive as possible and will go into more detail about it in future posts for anyone interested, but in the meantime I hope you enjoy this page and the content I share :)

A couple of years ago, I started writing wiki-type pages about Angela's projects to someday share online. A month ago, I decided to finally do it so other people can contribute as well.

Over the past month I've been setting up this Wiki, creating over 120 pages. Many are still empty but I wanted to make pages for her whole filmography so that people will have an easier time getting started with editing and adding to them. 19 pages already have a good amount of information on them.

The Wiki is still in its infancy but now everyone can contribute 🥹 including YOU.

Here I archive every Angela article that she's quoted in that I come across. Currently houses nearly 400 interviews.

Angela's Twitter Account:

When Angela got hacked last year, I took it upon myself to screenshot every Tweet of hers I could find before her account got deactivated permanently. This link leads to those screenshots.

Audios:

A collection of audiobooks, songs, narrations and podcast interviews she's done (all with metadata and cover art).

Screenplays:

My collection of screenplays from Angela's movies and TV shows and scripts from plays she's acted in.

eBooks:

My collections of eBooks (.epub, .pdf) related to Angela, including the book she wrote with her husband Courtney, books she wrote a foreword for, unauthorized biographies and books her movies were based on.

Scenepacks:

I run an Instagram accounts where I have posted scenepacks (that include ALL of her scenes) from nearly all her movies and TV shows that I was unable to post on YouTube. You can use them to make edits or just watch her parts from her projects.

It is quite hard to track down old magazines that Angela covered so I have started a list of print magazines I know of that she was in or on the cover of. If you have any to add, please contact me.

Lost media:

Since I often come across Angela content that is nowhere to be found anymore, I have also started a list of said content to help me keep track and possibly track it down in the future.

OTHER

I am in the process of archiving (downloading) as many of Angela's interviews, speeches and promos as I can. I reached 900 interview clips just the other day!

I am unfortunately unable to host all of this content online for everyone to access at all times BUT I do not gatekeep.

If you're ever looking for a specific interview, movie or TV episode to watch, you can always contact me and I will try to help you access it or send it to you :)

Lastly, please keep in mind I have only started archiving Angela's career in late 2021 so there is still a lot I'm missing. I'm happy about any contributions anyone is willing to make :)

So 😂 as I mentioned I was trying to update a little before the Met Gala but didn't manage to finish and now I'm quite drained. I will need to just rest today but will try to catch up on everything with posts on here later. In the meantime my Twitter page is still providing updates in real time, if anyone needs them.

This is a very busy month for Angela (and by extension me, especially since I'm traveling to London to try to see her at the premiere) and I have definitely learned that cross-posting in real time is not my strength, so the updates here likely won't always be instantaneous.

But as I still want her to have a little presence on here (outside of 9-1-1, too), I will keep trying my best :)
