Were there guys checking him out? Zach didnât know, nor did he care about them. Not when his thoughts were on someone else - that person being the guy standing very close to him. Still, he had to understand that he was here as a friend - they both were just friends. Zach couldnât risk ruining that, and Angel was trying to make his ex mad - jealous, whatever you wanted to call it. The implication there was loud and clear - while his ex was an asshole, Angel had feelings for the dude, and Zach was going to do this best to help him out here. So when he laced his fingers with his own, Zach smiled, more so to himself that he was up for this.Â
Zach watched Thomasâ reaction as Angel spoke and when he was introduced as his boyfriend, Zach could just give him a smug smile. He could also tell how bothersome the other looked. Which meant it was working, which also meant - as seen in every rom com ever, that once the ex knew you were moving on, they were going to call right back the same night. Zach however, held the other close to him. One hand wrapped around the base of his neck, while his free hand snaked around the manâs waist, he didnât think this was too far not if the other was okay with it. The softness of his lips against his own only encouraged him to make his next move and in response he closed the gap that was between them and pressed his lips against his friendâs own.Â
Zach wasnât the type to show major pda, so why was it that he didnât want to break the kiss, and instead push him against the wall now and here? No, he needed to stop, so he allowed the kiss to linger a moment longer before pulling away slowly. He wanted to apologize - maybe for overstepping, but for now they also had to keep up a pretense so he turned back towards Thomas who had his eyes focused on Angel in that moment. âYou two enjoy your night, weâll see you around.â Zach could only respond before looking back at Angel. âWant another drink?â he asked as he brought the hand placed on his waist up to his cheek.Â
Honestly, Angel didnât want the night to end. He wished he could just spend the rest of his days pretending to be Zachâs boyfriend. The way their hands slid so perfectly together, how their bodies exchanged heat as the pressed against one another and how his head felt so hazy just from the lack of distance. Heâd forgotten about Thomas entirely. Until he spoke and broke his thoughts, âHonestly. Good for Angel. Heâs had it out bad for you for forever.â The manâs eyes widen behind the frames of his glasses, cheeks were painfully pink now as sirens went off in his head. He couldnât think of what to say so he just laughed pretty awkwardly, âYeah, well. Lucky me. Guess I got the guy I wanted all along.â Though Thomas was right. Their relationship never would have worked out while he was harboring secretive feelings for his best friend.Â
He wasnât sure the night could get anymore surprising and suddenly those lips heâd fantasized about forever were possessing his own. Angel was taken aback but his body wasted no time in reacting, waiting for this for too long, pressing back against the other effortlessly as his lips meshed against the blondâs. His body pressed into Zachâs, a heated kiss for being in front of so many people but Angel didnât care. If this was the only time heâd get the chance to kiss Zach, he was going to make it last. The other men seemed to finally get the hint as they walked away but Angel paid them no mind, gaze not ripping away from his friendâs, breathing shallow and his glasses were fogged, âThat was...um. Wow.â Words were never his forte, biting on his own bottom lip as he trailed his thumb along Zachâs lower lip, âThe best kiss Iâve ever had.â He exhaled softly, nuzzling his cheek against his friendâs hand, âSure...yeah. A drink. Iâm sorry Iâm just...I canât believe you kissed me.â
