ok. so here's the thing, right? at first glance, aaron and gansey are very, very different people. like, objectively, there's not a lot for them to bond over. actually, theyre kind of opposites. gansey is this east coast blessed child, very rich and very lonely, and aaron is a california baby who has never had money or the privilege of being alone: hes spent his whole life tied to someone, whether it be his mother or andrew, and they have defined most of his identity.
but. they're both very, very stubborn.
both of them have an end goal in mind. they already know exactly what dreams they want to achieve, and they've both been told it won't happen. the goals themselves are different, and they're unrealistic in very, very different ways, but aaron and gansey can still see and understand their own desperation in each other. gansey needs to find glendower and prove he survived for a reason. aaron needs to get his degree and prove that he's more than rock bottom. different, but still mirrors.
it does go beyond that, though. aaron is a very pessimistic person, by necessity and nature, and yes, it probably kept him sane in his darkest days, but he still has a whole life left to live after those are over. with how often we see him with nicky in canon, and the fact that he chooses katelyn, it seems pretty clear to me that he prefers people who don't remind him of himself. and, well, gansey reminds him of no one he's ever met. he's bright, he's hopeful, he's totally insane, he's completely alive, he's half entrenched in magic, and he's constantly unpredictable in the most predictable of ways. he's not someone that aaron would ever want to be, but he's someone who can help aaron be feel less insane about being himself. gansey loves being alive. he loves the world. both worlds he stumbles through, and every world he's ever seen or touched or been a part of. he's desperate to prove that he belongs here because he wants to be here, in a way that aaron has never been able to let himself feel, because the world has failed him over and over and over. that's something he could find in gansey specifically that could draw him in.
on gansey's half of the scale, it's very simple. he is a person who has been a thousand places, he is someone who never stops moving, and he has built his life around people who never stop moving, people who are quite determined to go wherever they want to go, and he loves them and he wants to watch them go, but he is at his core very, very lonely.
if there is one thing aaron minyard has spent his whole life doing, it is staying. he doesn't collect people like andrew does, and he would never admit to clinging, but he is not someone who lets go. he is a safe point, in a way that ronan or adam or blue would never want to be; not because they don't love gansey, but because they have too many places they want to go.
anyway. tldr. they do drive each other mad a little bit, because they're both sort of impatient and bad at being completely genuine and also i think aaron would find gansey a little out of touch and gansey would think aaron is a cunt. but. there is something they could find in each other that doesn't quite exist in anyone else. they keep each other from being lonely, and they keep each other from feeling crazy, and they remind each other that the point of fighting this long was to make it. and they can both get what they want, and then they can both stay.

Decapitated, Danny sacrificed his human half after splitting with the Ghost Catcher. Why? Well, he had to do it to save humanity and be Clockworkās apprentice.

The gears surrounding Clockwork turned with their endless metallic groan, ancient and patient, echoing through the endless chamber of clocks. The ghost watched him with eyes far older than grief itself.
āThat is not what it means, young Danny,ā answered Clockwork calmly. āYou will inherit the throne one day, yes. But you are far from ready for such a burden. The first step, was indeed surrendering your freedom. Your dreams. Your warm, living body.ā
āJust because you showed me my future!ā snapped Danny suddenly. āYou showed me what happens if nobody stops it, Clockwork! Iām doing this to protect everyone I care about. And now theyāre going to suffer becauseāā
The sentence broke apart in his mouth. Because he wouldnāt be there anymore.
Danny lowered his head, white strands of hair shadowing his eyes as his shoulders curled inward.
āBecause Iām notā¦ā His voice faltered into something painfully small. He swallowed hard, but the ache in his chest only spread deeper and colder. āIām not there anymore. And Iāll watch them grow old. Iāll watch them die. Iāll carry all of that with me forever.ā
āForever,ā said Clockwork quietly. āUntil you are ready to pass on the throne.ā
Danny shut his eyes. He could still remember warmth. His heartbeat. Falling asleep tired instead of simply shutting down. Stupid things like a strawberry milkshake at the Nasty Burger after patrols. Sam rolling her eyes. Tucker laughing too loudly. A future he had traded away.
āBut if this is what it takes to keep everyone safeā¦ if this is what it takes to keep them happy and aliveā¦ā He forced himself to look back at Clockwork, eyes burning bright green. āThen itās fine.ā
It wasnāt fine. It would never be fine. But Danny had been sacrificing pieces of himself ever since the day he stepped into the portal.
Clockwork approached him slowly, robes shifting like flowing time itself. One hand rested gently against Dannyās shoulder.
āYou did well, young king,ā murmured Clockwork.

Good morning Amity Park, I'm your ghostly weatherman, Lance Thunder. Today's Thursday, May 21 and there's a 60% chance of rain. Highs are in the low sixties, and the lows are in the high forties.
No large ghost disturbances have been observed since Skulkerās attack on the Red Huntress, but several of the ghost dogs have returned to the woods near the Amity Park Observatory. I advise all proceed with caution in the area.
It has been recently discovered that Bertie, the endangered red widow spider at Amity Park Zoo who was thought to be pregnant for the past two weeks, is simply fat and not preparing to lay a clutch of eggs. This certainly is disappointing news, as I know many were excited by the zooās offer to name the entire clutch Bertie II: The Sequel.
Imagine Danny as an adult adopting a dog, and when talking to the shelter he says hes fine with big dogs, so the shelter owner brings out a Tibetan Mastiff for him to meet, and Danny positively loves her, but hes a little confused. The shelter said she was a big dog, but Danny thinks shes not very big at all and he wonders if maybe shes still just a puppy and will get bigger. And the poor shelter owner is also confused because this dog is Massive, even in terms of a Tibetan Mastiff shes huge!, what kind of dog is this guy used to dealing with that a full grown Tibetan Mastiff is considered 'not very big'?!
Turns out, learning how to take care of dogs via a ghost that can shape shift into the size of a litteral truck, warps your sense of what a "big" dog is.
Either way Danny adopts her, even if shes smaller than he expected, shes a cupcake and he loves her.
- For reference, female Tibetan Mastiff's can weigh up to 120lbs and can be like 25 inches tall up to their shoulder. In Danny's head, thats 'not very big'.
-Also they're SUPER fluffy and great for the cold and I feel like that makes her perfect for Danny who needs slightly cold environments due to his ice powers.
-Also grooming her fur helps with Danny's anxiety, and he has little bows that he makes puts in her fur.
-He basically pampers her like shes a Beverly Hills Chihuahua, and not a 120lb Gaurdian Dog.
-I can't think of a name for her, but I feel like she needs a soft, baby-girl name like Sugar Plum or Sweet Pea, so that when he mentions her to people, or they go to the vet everyone thinks he has a sweet, tiny, little Pomeranian, but then he actually brings her around and its like BOOM War Dog. [Dash who hasn't been redeemed, making jokes about Danny's 'pansy' little rat dog, only to see Danny the next day at the park playing fetch with a dog that looks like a lion].
It has taken me forever to make my DP Tucker based on @spookberry ās Tapas work called Half Normie AU. The cargo pants pockets work so Tucker can hold his tablet (repaint from G3 Spectra), a repainted phone from G3 Clawd and the Scare-yaki meat bag from G3 Clawd. The base of course is G3 Clawd and I hand sewn the clothes from old shirts and the beanie/beret is from a baby sock.
Started making this when Clawd was selling in stores and now I canāt find him anywhere so thatās a little lame as I only bought one at the time to make this custom, but I managed to get two G3 Heaths so one will eventually become Danny (I need to figure out how Iāll make him purpleish first).
I was originally trying to get a Wednesday or Enid to become Sam but Iāll probably get one of the Moonspell dolls (Willow or Carina) when they come out to turn into Sam. Depends on their height compared to the boys but I think Iām leaning towards Carina for the height difference but if Willow has good shoes Iām getting her. I can clay sculpt a little but not enough to make cool enough shoes for Sam.
Also @spookberry please, please make character sheets for your characters. They are so cool and I love that they change clothes but it makes it hard to figure out what style clothes I need to start patterning for Danny. But I love your style, they are all so cute and I love how you mix the generations. If I had the time I would love to make so many dolls after your style š«¶š½.
