“Yeah, but it’s fine. They’re kids. They laugh at adults who get hurt.” He said, giving a cynical smile before watching Adah look at his hands. “They’re fine, really, Adah. I could just imagine that they’re smooth-edged but I’m trying not to rely on my power.” He told her, picking up the streamers and knowing those won’t cut his hands. “So what brings you by the Center today?” Cole asked, his voice sincere as he looked back to her.
“Oh, but still...” she said, trailing off with a worried frown. “Well, I’m sure they aren’t being malicious,” she added with a nod, smiling at Cole. “As long as they aren’t too horrible and they’re healing, I’ll try not to worry,” she said, before adding, “too much.” Looking around the room as everyone was decorating, she looked back to Cole and held up the basket she was holding. “I brought over some goodies for all the volunteers helping out today!” she said, smiling brightly as she set the basket on the table.
