alright so im trans and im trying to figure out a name to go by and im having a bit if trouble. currently, i go by nick because it's close to my birth name so it's easier to get people to call me that. the thing is, im not a huge fan of the name and i feel like the name doesn't suit me. i really like the name Aaron because I feel like it suits me. but it would be hard getting people to call me aaron cause it's so different from my birth name. what should i do?

they should respect your name! it may seem "hard" but it's important that you use what you're comfortable with. i have never been comfortable with names close to my birth name, and thats ok! just tell whomever what to call you, and stress that it's important for your comfort. dont avoid what you're happiest with just because you want to be more convenient for others
