Russian Test Skates

Aliona - I am actually so happy to see her back in a decent shape with a 3a and even looking a bit happier. I don’t really like her SP but hopefully it can grow on me. I really enjoy her FP music but the program seems a little empty to me. I also have noticed that she doesn’t seem connected to her music and it only picks up at the end of her programs. 

Kamila - not much to say, her SP is a clone copy of Storm and I prefer that music more. I don’t like Bolero at all so. She and the team didn’t seem to worried about her jumps so

Sasha - she really is starting to grow on me. I don’t mind her short at all, I really hope she lands that 3A. Her FP was incredible however there really wasn’t any choreo, just jumps which is like meh. BUT it was still amazing, music not really to my taste

Anna - her SP was interesting but nothing special. Her FP started off great but the second half music change was terrible. It also looks like her jumps are dwindling a bit, ik she just got off an injury so let’s wait.

Daria - I feel bad when I watch Daria cause she is such a beautiful skater but I just know that she probably won’t make it to the Olympics and that hurts me. I actually didn’t mind her SP at all but her FP was not it.

Maiia - loved to see her more confident and her FP was actually not bad at all. Maybe it’s cause Danny G didn’t choreograph it. I can definitely see her being the dark horse of the season.

Can someone put a side by side comparison of Kami’s Storm sp and her new one?

As a Canadian, it’s really nice to see a promising young female singles skater. I have been following Kaiya since the last JGP and I’m so happy to see her improve so much. I hope she continues this great streak.

As much as I want success for Aliona, I’m scared for her health. I agree she needs that push to train well however she needs to know when to stop and when it becomes unhealthy. That is how the careers end early.

I don’t really know what to think about the whole Alena situation.

On one hand being with Plushenko was a disaster and a terrible environment but on the other hand I don’t want her to go back to the toxicity that is Eteri’s camp.

Watching Alena cry was rough :c I hope she can come back from that SP in the free! I’m sure she’s under a lot of pressure, especially from herself, after such a good season LAST season.

I really have mixed feelings about Kamila keeping her Bolero program for the Olympic season. I really dislike the program but maybe it can grow on me? Also pray to god that they change the costume.

I’m not even the biggest fan of Rika but DAMN that was beautiful. Everything about the performance was just gorgeous.

Seeing Yuzuru do so well and skate like that actually made me so happy. He is such a breath of fresh air after all this Russian drama.

Also I’m so happy for Shoma, he seems to have found a great coaching team.
