Outstanding Cast and Movie
I have seen Heneral Luna is an open eye for one of our unappreciated but probably the Best General the Philippines could ever have. The film featuring John Arcilla as Gen. Luna depicted the turmoil among Filipinos and it's leaders which continues until today. Heneral Luna has been acclaimed by critics as a great film. It has a better script, crisper execution and more excellent cinematography, well written, dramatic, poetic, and does justice to its subject matter. Heneral Luna is more than just retelling of the infamous general's experiences during the war. We saw in it the problem inherent with Filipino's that still pervade until today that causes our disunity and failure to progress. Antonio Luna's portrayal was human, very sincere and candid; John Arcilla's performances was brilliant and awe inspiring. Credit should also given to the rest cast who were able to give the diverse set of characters present in the film a presence that did not allow themselves to be diluted. There were problems with the portrayals of other people, however, such as not so fleshed out characters of Emilio Aguinaldo, and Apolinario Mabini the people in this film are much more believable and more imagining of how these characters must have been like. We all know the story of General Luna, although reading the stories via Wikipedia or through our textbooks that did not evoke the same emotions than watching the film. It was a full experience that allowed me to appreciate our complex history even more, understand the complexity of our infighting even more, and how politics intervened with our military affairs deeper. Building a strong sense of nation hood should begin all of us. The Hero Foundation commends the movie entitled "Heneral Luna" for taking a big steps in instilling a strong sense of patriotism among our youth, and educating them a new about the selflessness. Spread the skills of every Filipinos that the other countries may inspires us.
