Patience and Waiting...

Sometimes being a loving parent and spouse require the two things mentioned above. Ok who am I kidding. They always require those things. Just taking a few things from my life for example.

To My Spouse...

Why when I ask you to go do something you don’t do it? Honestly it’s not that hard, whenever I ask you to go get groceries or put the dishes in the dishwasher you ask as though I was asking you to deliver the ten commandments.

PS I don’t remember Moses complaining to God when he was called upon.

Not saying I am anywhere close to God; believe me I wouldn’t want to have his job at all. All I am trying to say is....WHY IN THE WORLD DO YOU WAIT!

Now some people wold ask: “Why don’t you go and do it yourself?”

Seriously?

I run a household, as well as teach and raise two toddlers mostly without the help of my spouse. If I am not cleaning then I am cooking. If I am not cooking then I am doing the umpteenth million load of laundry and if I’m not doing that...you see where I am going here? Do I really need to explain more?

Not to say my spouse isn’t busy...but they aren’t unless magically faceook now pays you to be on their site 24/7!!!! Not to mention the video games...OMG...I would loe to hide my spouses computer and give him clues aka chores that have clues that eventually lead to the laptop...wait, that’s a good idea. I might just do that now!

Now Spouses are not the only ones we have to have patience and be great with waiting for. All the parents out there know what I’m talking about...kids.

I love my kids more than anything in the world don’t get me wrong but they are a constant.

I have yet to wake up on my own without my child trying some new move in my bed that a character from mortal combat would do. Where does she learn that?! Is there some school for future mortal combat people that I didn’t know about?!

My kids have given me more heart attacks and embarrassing moments then my three younger brothers. You know what’s worst though? Sometimes my spouse acts more like a child then our kids!!!!

ITS SUPER ANNOYING!!!!

YOU ARE NOT PETER PAN YOU ARE THE ADULT!!!!!

Anyway ending on a happy/weird note I just wanted to ask...Am I the only one that feels like this?! Once again this is written in humor not seriousness. Everyone I hope gets a good laugh at my expense. Have a great day Guys! Hang in there! You are doing great! Keep it Up!

Am I the Only One...?

I really need to know this, though this is more of a joking question since I am sure others have asked this question much more then I have but here it goes.

Am I the Only One...

Who asks their spouse to do something and not only do they not do it when you ask them to but when you remind them that in fact you did ask that now you are accused of “nagging”?

Seriously?!

I have have asked my spouse to do so many simple things including just to take out the trash while I take care of our child’s. You know feed them, bathe them, teach them as much as I can because I’ll admit it I am still new to being a parent even four years in.

Honestly how hard is it that when I am doing the dishes that I asked my spouse to do the other day and trying to figure out what in the world any of us ate and how it turned into a weird colored mush, that you just switch the clothes from the washer to an EMPTY dryer...seriously this isn’t rocket science.

Even if there were clothes in the dryer, put them in a basket, take said basket to the living room, put the clothes from the washer into the dryer, start the dryer and maybe just maybe fold the clothes.

Wait...that’s too many instructions isn’t it? Ugh yet I have managed to do it more times then I can count.

Am I the only one...

who honesty can help our children with anything? Including potty training. Honestly, don’t get me wrong I love my spouse and they do a lot for our family but there are sometimes I can’t help but look at them and think...”Seriously...you can’t do this one little thing?”

I guess my main point is, am I the only one who asks their spouse to do something, even the smallest and most general thing and not only do they not do it but when you get a bit frustrated over it they have the nerve to ask you those horrible two words...”What’s wrong?”

Anyway! To all the others out there who understand what I am going through and even to those who don’t great job! You are doing awesome and remember one day, though I don’t know when, your spouse may understand why when you say nothing is bothering you that something really is.

This is all said in good humor so before people start saying bad things about this post just stop, get a sense of humor, return to this post and read it again with the sense of humor your forgot to use the first time. Let’s admit it, we’re not perfect, never will be but that’s ok. Let’s just love one another, flaws and all!

Mothers...

We are the front line for our children. No matter what happens in life we are always there for them, however we aren’t perfect and that’s ok. You want to know why? We’re human just like everyone else. We are going to mess up because if you think about it that is what we are programmed to do. The best thing to do when we mess up?

Get up off the ground, brush ourselves off and move on with life. We are setting the examples for our children. I know that I don’t want to be the one to show my kids that is tough times come along you can just sit and cry. No. I don’t want my kids to wallow in their mistakes, I want them to learn from them and I am a prime example for them to learn as well.

Children are the best thing that can happen to anyone. Though at times you wonder who is going to go crazy first. You? The kids? Your husband? At times I have even questioned my dogs sanity...that is a totally different story though.

So in closing to all the moms out there. You are doing a great job! Be proud of the parenting that you are doing because there is no one else on the face of the earth like you and your kids know it. That’s why they look up to you! There maybe times where you think you have no idea what you are doing (believe me we all do, and whoever says they don’t is a liar) and that you may want to pull your hair out but I am telling you that you are doing a great job! Don’t let the naysayers get to you. Hold your head high and smile because honestly that’s what gets to the negative people more. Proving them wrong.
