We went soon at their home where we spent all the noon, dining and watching a movie.
The day after they had to go to work so we got up very early. It was 6:30, I was not get used to that hour, but it is not a big deal.
We had a breakfast and then we went in Liverpool Street where my friends work.
On that day I had two main activities to do, the first one was to visit the Science Museum and then meet another friend. Of course, it was to early entering inside the museum, I would have found not only closed doors but also chains locking them, so I decided to take another breakfast. Just to waste some time.
Science is something that astonishes me, I took all the time necessary to watch everything deserves to be seen and understood. I spend roughly six hours inside the museum. At 5 o’clock I had an appointment at Bank with Mary, the friend I mentioned before. We went at pub just to get a drink and talk. After, she proposed me to go at her home to have dinner. She is kind and nice.
The only sad note, on that day was that I had to sleep on the floor again, my poor bones. However, that night was the last night on the floor, because the day after there was a bed available in my friends’, yuppy.
The day after, I felt all my broken bones, however I discarded to get up early just like the day before. The plan of the day was, do nothing. I have already been in London twice, so I could say to have seen whatever there is to see. Maybe not, indeed, there is one place that I have never been before: Platform 9 3/4 of King’s Cross Station. If you know what it is, let me give you a virtual high five. I got there and after one hour of queue I finally had my own photo on the platform. I also spent some time inside the Harry Potter shop, that is near to the platform and then I went to the city center (Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, China Town, Oxford Street and so on) just to waste waste time. Oh, I also went to Forbidden Planet, a place where every nerd or geek would spend a lot of money, just like me.
That day finished at 6 p.m. when I met my friends, at Liverpool Station, to go home.
I cannot believe that my holidays were ending, so this tale, but no worries there are still two adventurous days to talk about.
On day after and precisely on Friday 22nd, I got up very late, I got the tube in order to take breakfast somewhere in the city center when I was reading some tweets I found out that there was a TARDIS in Parliament Square in London. It was because the day after BBC will have broadcasted the 8th season premiere of Doctor Who. Then I gave up with breakfast and I decided to go straight to Westminster. I did so because I just wanted another photo with that blue box. When I got there I had a wonderful surprise because, you cannot believe how lucky I am, there was Peter Capaldi, the new Doctor, doing photos and signing autographs. I thought, “oh my goodness, I’m going to have a photo with Peter”. What a lucky day. Who would have ever said! At the end I had a photo and I also had an autograph. However, the only paper I had was the tube map. Fortunately he signed it without any problems. That map now is priceless.
The following hours had no sense for me, just because other things were not as important as a photo with Peter. However, I continued to walking around the City center (Carnaby Street, Soho, Tottenham Court Road). At the evening I met my friends, as usual, at Liverpool Station, we went to Stratford where we watched Guardian of the Galaxy. A new Marvel movie. I decided to watch it in UK just because in Italy will be premiered on 22nd October. Just two months before, so I have the power of spoiler. LOL.
The 23th is the last day and it was Saturday, for my friends was a day off, so we decided to spend the morning together and we went to the city center. We walked around, at some point when we realized that it was too late, we had to run to the bus station because I had to take the bus to Stansted Airport. It also need a mention the fact that for matter of minutes I was loosing my plane. I had to run even in the airport. I have been the last one doing the check at the gate. Finally, now I can say that it is over. Only few hours and I will be back to my homeland.
EPILOGUE
I want to think that a holiday is to get some rest and then enjoy your time, but I want also think that a holiday is also a time to think, to reorganize your ideas, to plan your future. It is also a time to improve yourself, it is educational. Even with these holidays I have learnt how is important improving myself everyday in order to pursuit my dreams. I had the opportunity to see new realities that allowed me to understand that all the results achieved are not enough. The only thing I am sure is that I am on the right way but I just need to fight a little more.
I almost forgot, I want to thank all people that have made this vacation so fantastic, like Beppe, Carlo, Donato, Amy, Mary and everyone I asked questions.
CLOSING NOTES
I started writing this tale for two main reasons: improve my written English and talk about my holiday. The first one is more important than the latter one. So please, if you have any comment or question do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you in advance.
