heya, sorry for the inactivity. i've had a really rough few weeks --- as soon as i came home from visiting my family my dog went into kidney failure and passed away. he was my soul dog and my heart is broken beyond words. the grieving process is a bitch, and the sadness seems to come and go in waves, but i'm doing a bit better now. i hope to come back to this blog asap but i can't make any estimates on how long it will take for me to get my focus back. sorry for those of you that i owe replies to. i love you all <3

he tossed an absent glance across the shop, only to falter under aziraphale's gaze - soft and fond, they stood caught in its radius. hasn't anyone told him that's not the sort of look you give demons? guess he didn't get the memo. ' ... right ! ' the burgeoning stack of books in his arms found a new home, wherever they happened to land.

' let's vamoose before you change your mind, shall we? - after you, angel ! ' a wave of their hand to hold the door ajar ( ever the gentleman ), and a snap to lock it behind them.

' what's it gonna be today? ' he offered an arm, a gesture that had come to feel nigh as organic as walking or talking. ' lemme guess ... hot cocoa and that godawful pink strawberry cake? '

perhaps that wasn't how you were supposed to look at demons. but aziraphale happened to be very fond of this particular demon, despite their habit of tossing his beloved books onto the floor, and he was beginning to find it nigh on impossible to stop looking at them with such immeasurable fondness, even when walking so closely alongside him on the busy streets of london.

" you must've read my mind. " he spoke with a smile, eyes still shining with that same soft adoration as they approached the entrance to the coffee shop. " and the strawberry cake isn't awful --- it's nice. it goes very well with the hot cocoa. "

aziraphale changed the bentley to be yellow because he thinks the colour yellow is pretty. crowley's eyes are yellow

' he cocked a brow at aziraphale over the brim of their sunglasses. ' - i really shouldn't be exposed to classic literature this long ! '

aziraphale's lips pressed together slightly as he thumbed at the creased pages of a book that he was pretty sure had been IMMACULATE before gabriel jim had got his hands on it. the cover was crumpled, and some of the pages had become dog-eared. no, in fact, aziraphale was certain he had kept this one in better condition----

crowley's words caught aziraphale's attention, and he looked toward them, expression instantly softening. although they were nowhere near finished with the re-alphabetisation of the books... how could he say no to sharing a lovely hot drink and a slice of cake ?

" mm, perhaps we should take a break. " the angel spoke softly with a half-smile, gently closing the book and placing it on the desk. " we have been at it for rather a while, after all . "
