it was exactly 8:57 pm when you had received a text from xavier. it was a simple “i’m outside.”
walking outside you’d be lying if you said you weren’t nervous. it was the aspect of your like or dislike for the rapper. it was the idea that at any moment someone could take a picture of you two and you’d end up on twitter with hundred of hate comments from his fans.
opening the front door you spotted a black car in the street. before you took a second step, the window rolled down and you saw the person you were looking for.
“what’s up, da pretty angel.”
“ew why do you call me that?”
“it’s your instagram handle. why you acting like you don’t call me by mine?”
as you talked the car, he had stepped out opening the door for you. you sat in the car and you could feel the awkwardness that filled it.
xavier broke the silence simply saying, “you smoke?” and then he drove off.
the ride got less awkward the more comfortable you got. you and xavier talked about the past. life before the fame and followers. before you knew you, the two of you arrived.
the party itself wasn’t rememberable. you met a few other rappers in the scene and you did what your manager told you. ‘networking.’
when you checked your phone it was 10:54. you were starting to get bored.
“you not having fun?”
“not really.”
“cmon. i got you!”
as you and xavier walked through the crowd to the back of the club, he introduced you to a few of his friends on the way out. once you guys got outside, he sparked up. the blunt was handed back and forth as you two spoke.
“what’s the music video going to be about?” you were curious. everyone was. and you could never give anyone a real answer
“imma be honest. i don’t even know yet. i wanna give my fans something good. even with the songs in mind, i need a good video, you know?”
“if you don’t know what you’re going to do, how do you know i’m fit to do it?”
“i saw you on my explore page and liked your style. i feel like you got the type of look where you can do a lot of different styles and still look good. i don’t got to know what to do to know you’ll be good at it.” xavier leaned against the fence as he spoke.
“we can figure something out.”

when you had posted your pics, you didn’t expect much from it. so imagine the shock when a few hours after you posted, all the comments are talking about someone named “xav”.
you ignored it at first but the annoyance was getting to you. after you posted a story to call out these people, another surprise came. the boy who everyone was talking about in your comments decided to dm you.
you ignored it.
