Jon’s hand took the nape of Satin’s neck in his grasp and pulled him in to press their foreheads together. Satin squeezed his eyes closed and returned the pressure. It felt too much like a goodbye. It couldn’t be a goodbye. He felt Jon’s gauntleted hand on the back of his neck, his breastplate against the hand he rose to lay against his chest, and the shoulder pauldrons bumping against him. Layers of steel on steel on steel. Let it be enough, Satin prayed, it has to be enough.
