“Well, I wasn’t asking you to. I’m not gonna just… never get my shirt back. I’ll find it eventually.”
"You realise it's just a shirt, right? You're not losing that much."

“Well, I wasn’t asking you to. I’m not gonna just… never get my shirt back. I’ll find it eventually.”
"You realise it's just a shirt, right? You're not losing that much."
“Oh.” Jade tilted her head. “Okay.”
"I'm afriad we can't do room searches for a shirt, so I'd stop trying to find it."
“I doubt this place can help me any better…”
“Not if you don’t want it to, love.”
“Is that my shirt?”
“I’m afraid not, darling. Might be similar.”
“Well..the punchline is supposed to do that..you know because some drunk guy keeps trying to talk to another guy, but he isn’t answering, and he keeps calling him an eggplant, and the penguin gets so annoyed that he yells at him.”
“I guess. I wasn’t brought up with a humour I’m afraid. My family stamped that out as soon as possible. Sorry, I’m Eve. I’ve seen you around haven’t I?”
“The kitchen staff looks at me warily, like I’m going to sneak in and drop hair in all their stuff. Not really.”
“Oh, dear, I’m sorry. How long have you been here?”
Smiling, he shrugged “Alex.”
“Lovely to meet you Alex.”
“Yes ma’am.” Alex smiled, taking a pawn and moving it.
Mirroring his move, Eve asked, “I’m Eve, you are?”
“I dunno, ripping hair out and leaving it lying around is pretty gross. Sorry again, I… try to throw it all away…”
“Maybe a little. Has it got any better since being here?”
“It’s hilarious, how do you not get it?”
“Explain it to me then.”
Charlie nodded. “Not the most glamorous, is it?” She dropped the handful of hair into the trash.
“Nothing is too glamorous here, love, I wouldn’t worry.”
“Doesn’t matter.”
“I’ll take black then, you first.”
“Just what I need, another person to tell me what I already know.”
"I'm just here to talk about what your diagnosis is. I am able to diagnose but that's already happened for you."
“And the penguin says to the farmer, he’s not an eggplant, man, he’s retarded! What’s not funny about that?”
“I have never understood that joke.”
“Thanks I guess..” He mumbled, following her into the room.
Grabbing a wad of tissues she passed them to the boy, as she collected better materials to clean his nose. “Tip your head back and pinch the soft part above your nostrils. How long has your nose been bleeding?”
“Want to play chess?”
“Black pieces or white?”
“I, uh… pulled it out… I’ll get it.” Charlie bent down to sweep it into her hand.
“Trichotillomania?”
