It was an ordinary evening when I decided to play a pre-made household in The Sims 3 for the very first time. I should mention that I know nothing about the lore behind the pre-made Sims, so I picked a household simply by reading their in-game descriptions. After going through all the households in Sunset Valley, I finally chose Claire Ursine.
“Claire Ursine is a reclusive angler living by the ocean. Since she lives alone, she is hopeful that no one will notice her unexpectedly changing waistline.” Pretty intriguing, right?
In my head, I had already planned her future — a loving husband, kids, and a little dog. However, The Sims 3 had something entirely different in mind. And that’s where Claire Ursine's story begins.
After giving herself a small makeover, Claire headed to the gym to get in shape and show her ex, Jared Frio, what a beautiful woman he had lost. She felt nauseous a few times while working out, but no one paid attention — maybe it was just overexertion, or the crowd… After spending half a day at the gym, Claire noticeably slimmed down and happily admired her reflection in the mirror.
Feeling productive, she went grocery shopping, after which she only had 1,100 simoleons left. Later that evening, an ice cream truck parked right across from her house, so Claire decided to treat herself to a chocolate popsicle. Afterwards, she read a cooking skill book for a while (since she wanted to improve her culinary skills) and went to bed.
But in the middle of the night, she woke up feeling nauseous again… And then… IT TURNED OUT SHE WAS PREGNANT. Pregnant with her ex, Jared Frio’s, baby.
The moral of the story — play with pre-made households, because it can turn out to be very interesting!
