I'm on fire

Hi!!!! So I haven’t tumbled in soooo long. This past semester has been crazy. 18 credits in psych, lunar new year, ecaasu, post Urbana, serve up, and joining intervarsity staff team!!! And sooooooo much more! Right now I’m on the way back from the northern New England divisional retreat that we just had at a sweet lake house in Milton and I’m on my way back to orientation land at UVM!!!!

I’m really excited. This coming year is going to be a blast. I can’t wait to work with my new team and meet even more people! So many ideas are churning in my head. Summit, fall conference and more!

I also need to work on my fund development. Major. I realized these past few days, even though I am afraid about having to depend on others, it’s really all about depending on God. And there is so much about trusting the process, trusting the Holy Spirit to speak to people. I really wish to be successful with sharing about what and who runs my life, Jesus.

I also feel so rejuvenated for these last few sessions of orientation. I just realized that we’re already halfway through the month of June! This means I must make the last few sessions even more meaningful. Connecting connections here we go! Go cats go! And go ducks!

- the show is meant to provide a realistic depiction of twenty something year old girls finding their way for the first time out of education

- It is okay that you hate the characters for their faults, you hate Hannah for trying to be a strong feminist yet still dating Adam who is a complete dick to her

- Its okay to note that all of the girls are from privileged white middle class backgrounds and yet still bitch and moan about their lives

- You are meant to notice these things, you are meant to criticize them,

Can any of you really say you don’t empathise with them, and realise their faults are very much like your own? I mean let’s be honest Tumblr is populated mostly with privileged white kids most of whom will boast some sort of depression or seem to honestly be shocked by difficult life decisions wonder why they can’t sit around watching films and reblogging pictures of cats and self harm scars all day (I myself am no exception . I genuinely believe that if a problem feels weighty to you then it doesn’t matter what others are going through it is going to make you unhappy, however Girls highlights the pettiness of some of the everyday problems we all complain about. The fact you hate the characters so much for all of their faults should really say something about our own first world privileged white girl “problems”.

i've realized that i'm very susceptible to following media as the super peer. like VERY. which sucks, because that seems like such a normal thing and it's like my life goal to be an outlier for stats/psych/soc/wtv.

anyway, thanks to the exposure of a ton of their commercials, i watched the whole first season of HBO's Girls today! (and yes, i can totally relate to almost all the characters. whoo!)

And during a nice long hot shower i was thinking about how much i need to start blogging again. (sucks that i didn't blog about urbana at all cuz it was a blast. i can only hope that it'll come up in a future post.) Till then, Cheerio!

this has been my dream all year! and finally! at last! with prayers and support it is coming true!

it's also been so magically, one with the last notice support that my friends and i have received, as well as joining the international track. originally i was debating on which track would be most fulfillinf and i joined the international, not fully understanding what it may be about, but just to meet people from all over, and as a safety for the hyatt hotel, but then we decided to room with a volunteer of urbana at a different hotel. THEN TWO DAYS AGO - on the international track page they posted the workshops and boom! like magic! this is one of the things i really wish to learn more about. how to talk about religion and christianity cross-culturally. something i've recently been finding myself lost in. it's like it was all meant to be!

i'm so excited!! and yes, expect me to be blogging toooooooooooo!
