What your headache is tellin you
I haven’t seen this post in a min but precisely when I have a headache RN it comes up in my feed
Two quick additions, as someone who suffered from chronic migraines
1. Behind the eyes: eye strain or just long stress. More sleep will definitely make this feel better. 2. Temples: unclench your jaw, as that bone is putting too much pressure on your temples.
This is a fucking life saviour with the amount of headaches I have
i thought this image was a shitpost at first
At your funeral, no one is going to mention how expensive your car was or how dope ya kicks were. Be a person with true substance & heart!

Anyone else’s self esteem go down like 20% every time they try on clothes?
Because mine sure as hell does
I think I liked it better in black and white, but I’ve never added color to any of my lyric typography doodles so I figured it was worth a try ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The other night I chatted with a friend of mine from high school about one of my (many) musical obsessions, Falsettos–a show I saw five times in less than a month last fall. Falsettos is very emotionally grueling, and as we were discussing which songs from the show were the worst (in that it made our hearts hurt and we couldn’t help but cry), this lyric from “Jason’s Bar Mitzvah” stuck with me.
It’s complicated to explain the context without getting into an overly-detailed account of the entire show, but this line is sung by Jason’s mother, Trina, as she attempts to decorate an ill family member’s hospital room in order to celebrate Jason’s Bar Mitzvah all together. Though try as she might to “make things lovely,” to focus on the happy occasion instead of the depressing circumstances, she’s at a loss because this is a problem she can’t fix. She’s helpless in saving her son, her family, and herself from the pain of their situation. There’s something striking about the phrase, and I haven’t been able to shake it for a few days now, so I thought I’d doodle it to craft those emotions into something concrete.
[the doodles are obviously of champagne (which the family brought with them for the celebration), the candle they used in the ceremony, and the coloring of the flowers match the bouquets that Trina arranged in the room to make it livelier (and lovelier)]
do you ever just fucking hate yourself for not working hard enough to reach your full potential?? cuz same.
as soon as dan outright said he suffers from clinical depression, my heart stopped. saying that so clearly is so hard to do, and he’s so brave for doing so. the entire video showed that depression was always there, regardless of his appearance in collabs and at events and the life he’s been given. I’m honestly so proud and close to sobbing because I’m so happy that he had the courage to share his story for such an amazing cause. his advice, like seeing a therapist and speaking to people you trust about how you feel, is so important and should be talked about and shared so much. dan howell, you’ve done a wonderful thing. i love you.

is this ad implying peter dinklage has been faking being short his whole career
Henri Landru was a French serial killer in the 20th century who had a victim count of 11 under his belt. In 1915, Henri began placing ads in the lonely hearts section in Paris newspapers, usually something along the lines of ‘’Widower with two children, aged 43, with comfortable income, serious and moving in good society, desires to meet widow with a view to matrimony. ’’ Many women eagerly responded to his ads and they would move in with him in his rented villas. After a short amount of time, Henri would kill his victims and burn their remains in his oven. Afterward, he sold their securities and possessions. Eventually, in 1919, the sister of one of his victims, who was on a mission to track down her missing sibling, pushed for police to arrest Henri. When they searched his house, they found many valuables that belonged to the missing women. Henri was found guilty at his trial and met the guillotine on February 23, 1922. His severed head is now showcased in the Museum of Death.
And, it’s not like it’s over and I can just drop it. This is the bare minimum that I need to keep up to stay afloat. And even then, I’d say, a couple times a month, I can have depressive episodes that are bad… Sometimes, I’ll just wake up in that black hole and there’s nothing I can do about it. The day is just a write-off no matter what… I just have to hope that when I wake up the next day, that I feel better. x
Can we just take a minute to really appreciate how brave Dan was? Opening up to people you’re close to about your mental health can be terrifying and he just put a video out there knowing millions of people will see it. He could have been vague but he really went into detail about his personal experiences which could help a lot of his audience particularly young people who don’t fully understand what they’re going through. To know that even someone who is successful and has millions of fans is experiencing the same horrible thing as you is a real reminder mental health can affect anyone. When Dan talked about making a video on mental health I never expected he would be this raw or go into such personal detail and I think he should really be applauded for doing so as it’s such a difficult issue to talk about.
