REBLOG THIS TO GIVE THE PERSON YOU REBLOGGED THIS FROM A GOLD STAR BECAUSE THEYāVE BEEN STELLAR TODAY AND THEY DESERVE IT āļø
some of you think ānuancedā only means āmorally greyā and Iām here to tell you that actually straight up good characters can still be nuanced and unapologetically evil characters can still be nuanced. the character doesnāt have to be an anti hero or morally dubious to have depth. they donāt even have to feel sorry about their crimes to have depth.

But seriously, if you keep pushing yourself past your mental or physical limits, it will catch up with you. You cannot live forever on three hours of sleep and caffeine and willpower. You cannot keep overpowering your very natural need to relax and recharge. If you don't treat both with care and respect, at some point your brain and your body will reach a point of breakdown and burnout - and any mental or physical conditions you may have tried to ignore and power through will kick your ass. So take that goddamn nap or that break now. Don't wait for yourself to shatter and fall apart before you tend to the cracks in your body and mind. Just because you may have the choice to ignore your limits right now doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Take care of yourself now or you WILL regret it.
I was watching a video about the 1996 Everest disaster and the narrator remarked that, when things go terribly wrong in high altitude climbing, is often the weaker, less experienced climbers who survive, while the stronger ones die.
I've been thinking about that ever since. High-altitude climbing involves spending extended periods in places that are hostile to human life. When you're in a place like that, your body will be constantly signalling that this is not OK, that you're going to die, that you need to get out. In order to successfully climb multiple high altitude peaks, you have to be able to feel those signals and push through anyway. If you do it often enough, you probably stop feeling them in the same way that a rookie would.
When you hear about these disasters, sudden changes in weather, unforeseen circumstances, who lives and who dies often depends on who keeps pushing on to get to the summit, and who gives up, turns around and gets to shelter. And my hunch is that, in a situation like that, the habit of pushing through despite desperate signals to stop becomes a lethal curse.
We are not living in the Death Zone, but we are often living in ways that push our body and mind past tolerable levels of stress, fatigue or other burdens, and if we do it long enough, we may not be able to tell when the burden is no longer just intolerable, but unsustainable.
We need to learn to listen to the signals. We need to learn when to stop, turn back, and find shelter.
Also like, to put it really clearly: if you push yourself to collapse you donāt get to choose when that collapse happens.
Survivorship bias teaches us a lie. It teaches us a whole bunch of people saying āwell I managed it because I had no other choiceā when asked how they survived something or pushed through a horrible time, and they forget to add āand I got really fucking luckyā.
Because in do-or-die situations ādieā is still an option and one that really does happen.
Now sometimes you do really have NO choice but to flip that coin, but itās really important to realize and internalize that you donāt get points for virtue, you just get the same roulette wheel.
If you donāt have to, and I mean ādrive on a smoking engineā level of have-to, fucking donāt, right?
advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ānow that iām an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etcā they donāt mean āand now i donāt care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymoreā bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love
You get bigger so you can store even MORE love and appreciation for the world inside of you

i am. so sorry if i have ever used the phrase āi have an au whereāā and led you to believe that there is an actual fic out there for you to read rather than, at best, a post where i explain the concept, and at worst it is simply something that lives in my brain

šIntroducing, the Muddlefoot familyš
Hereās the whole gang, wow incredible
I love the pitch Bible for the Darkwing reboot giving Herb and his family a purpose, like more than to just annoy Drake š
Anyway I think they look alright, Iāll prolly tweak things here and there but Iām fairly happy with them overall. I realize I essentially wrote nothing for Binky, dunno why, but sheās your average house wife/stay at home mom. She enjoys the finer things in life and love baking for her friends and neighbors!
(Stop here if you enjoy happiness)
If youāre up for it (I know youāve been busy so) š„ŗhuman mags and nlp together would be pretty epic. You donāt have to Iāll probably draw them myself eventually Iām just rotted for your nlp and your art. š I love how you draw people also ehehe
Jim and his two malewives ٤:
Sheeesh Drake with the Darkwing drip. Anyway I wanted the play around with some less goofy looking costume designs? I think they look pretty good.
Clone shenanigans
i hate them btw

Recently on Twitter there was an artist that unfortunately made ai art of Darkwing Duckā¦.I thought Iād put my own spin on it. You knowā¦put some humanity back into the piece.
Also the guy said that self taught artists arenāt real artists so Iām also here to give him the bird on that one. He has a degree and I did his job for him. š
