recently i’ve been doing some shape-based experiments with environments, working with only two values to make sure the environment reads as a good graphic design before moving on to light and color.
This is the lost city Glacia for my Skies of Arcadia redesign project.
What I liked most about Glacia in the original game was the upside down buildings that resembled icicles, so I wanted to include that in my redesign as well.
The city has been long abandoned, and it’s slowly falling apart and sinking into the waters.

Bring you child to work day!
Today was “bring your child to work day” here at the Disney Store home base. SO, I had the pleasure of showing a room full of kids how to draw Mickey Mouse. After all, it all started with a mouse. The above images are of the worksheet I sketched up for today’s lesson. I wanted to break it down and give a step by step approach on drawing Mickey (and Minnie). Taking it a step further and also a nod to my animation background, I wanted to show how to take the same basic principals and show them how to change it up. Is Mickey happy, sad, mad? How would that look? And, finally how to turn his head. They are quick sketches, but I think they helped get the point across. Maybe even you’ll give it a try! :)

Wassup y’all!
If you didn’t know I have an instagram account (@francorama) where I post sketches, doodles, wips and other horrible things from my everyday life! Now that my semester is almost over, I’m going to post chill stuff more often on there (cause scanning sucks)
Yup so here’s the profile page: http://instagram.com/francorama

Keane’s designs for Silver from Treasure Planet are a big part of why I was to be a Vis Dev artist.
Kristoff and Sven’s first scenes in Frozen!
One of the many rewarding things about working on Treasure Planet was being able to work with master animator, Glen Keane. Besides animating Silver, Glen did some storyboard work on the film. Here’s a couple of his story sketches. Love his loose pen work on these.
My eye goes right to the face, and Jim’s eyes in both of these drawings.
