I visited @animalclawsing‘s island of Tiny, as I said I did a while ago, but also, as I said a while ago, this first visit did not go well. I spent a bit over an hour and a half wandering around, completely stuck once I made it to the beach.
I don’t want to, like, post a walkthrough or anything, but I will repeat some hints now that the maze has been solved by someone else (first solved by the always worth-following @pie-bean, whose blog is now mentioned on the island’s bulletin board by way of prize, and I couldn’t be happier about that), because these were hints that I would have found useful had I been given them:
1) You DON’T need to eat food for anything to solve this maze. There are no rocks you need to break or trees you need to dig up.
2) Be careful about mashing the Y button to pick things up if you’re near any cliffs, because if you pick up one of the ladder kits that are set up to allow you to climb up or down a level, you can’t put them back. Your only option is going to be to leave the dream and come back.
3) Once you go through the pipe on the Southeast part of the beach, you can go past the car on the right by hugging the South wall. This is awfully specific, I know, but it’s the thing that I got stuck on my first time I visited.
And, not a hint, but spend time exploring the houses, not just the island itself! The houses are all customized to an absolutely incredible degree! I don’t know they do it. I really don’t. I mean, it’s not like they did anything literally impossible, obviously, because they did it, but it’s a level of detail I sure couldn’t manage.
The first few photos, including wishing on the shooting star, are from my first visit, when I didn’t complete the maze. The last three are from my second visit on August 7, when I did.
I guess I can’t prove beyond any doubt whatsoever that I cleared it on August 7. All I’ve got is this post from August 7 that I might have edited, I guess. I don’t think there’s anything I can do to prove I didn’t edit it later.
