WELCOME TO MY ANIMATION BLOG!!!
absolute bouncy ball
Loved Clock Diana so much I turned her into a 3d model...
THE TIME TRAVELER
THE TIME-TRAVELING PRIVATE EYE!!!
(Reblogs and comments are appreciated!!!!!!!)
First Encounter.
(REBLOGS AND COMMENTS ARE VERY APPRECIATED!!!!!!)
FAIRY!!!
A redesign and 3d model of a character I had when I was nine!! She um. Doesn't officially have a name since I never gave her one.
Regardless I love how cartoony she came out!!! I think she's (once again) a new favorite model.
She's also surprisingly complex for what the final product looks like! Specifically with the rig.
PLEASE REBLOG OR COMMENT IF YOU WANT TO IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!!
More stuff under the cut....
what app do you use to animate? (if you already went over this sorry)
and what does your animation process look like?
I use OpenToonz! To be honest it's a MAJOR pain to work with sometimes but I found it to be the best option for me.
As for my process... I don't have everything but I'll do my best to explain the Wendell animation! (I worked at 23 frames at 24 frames a second)
First, I have the start and end keyframes. I normally draw them right next to each other on the timeline and change the timing afterwards but that would probably be painful to look at.
Next, I add breakdowns, or drawings that transition one pose to the other. Since this was a simple animation, one smear frame was good enough.
(Oh god.)
After that I make a few timing adjustments and add some additional breakdowns.
In this case, I used ease out and ease in (where the frames are slow at the beginning, fast in the middle, and slow at the end) and anticipation (moving in the OPPOSITE direction before doing the action)
I also add bounce by overshooting (going past the pose) above and below the pose, but I tend to do this near the end.
Finally I try to get my lines consistent by flipping through each keyframe and redrawing anything that looks too off (which I believe is called flipping and rolling in traditional animation!) I sadly can't show it here since I didn't save that progress, either.
Afterwards I'm usually done!!! Animation wise, anyway.
Sometimes I animate the camera, too! It's really fun to do actually (and also easier with OpenToonz which is a plus).
But that's essentially my process! I know it's not a tutorial and I don't think all the terms are accurate but I tried to be as straightforward as I could. :)
Got possessed to animate the one Wendell sketch from yesterday.
(Reblogs and comments are so appreciated!!!!!)
"Buy our cars!"
(Reblogs and comments are appreciated!!!)
@doyoureallyneedme HALLOWEEN VARIANT!!!!
I initially wanted to practice rigging but I decided to learn texture paint instead! So while they don't have expressions I think the texture more than makes up for it (plus it was definitely my favorite part to do!! since i really like the design itself)
I also struggled with the hair so I used a new method! Which I will for sure try to employ from now on
Sadly the Snoep broom has seen. Better days lmao
HOPEFULLY YOU LIKE IT!!!!!
TERA NEW 3D MODEL!!!!
The colors are a little off but I think I've improved substantially since the last one. He certainly looks friendlier.
I redid the expressions thing!!
AND HE CAN MOVE!!!!
While I did give him his alternative outfit and model his other limbs they kept clipping through the mesh so I may not work on that... yet.
If you can do so REBLOGS AND COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED!!!!! Especially since I put a bunch of effort into this one.
You'll see why if you keep reading lol
NATHANIEL MODEL!!!!
He was a bit tedious to make (for multiple reasons) but I mostly enjoyed making him!
While not as expressive as Bebe, I still really liked doing expressions for him!
And the eye rig makes it's grand return. I think it works.
Poses.
If you'd like to do so reblogs and comments are really appreciated!!!This was about a 10 hour process I think?
More stuff below the cut...
BEBE 3D MODEL!!!!!!
She was way harder to model than I was anticipating... but also didn't take too long. Maybe 8 hours at most?
She makes me SO happy though. I know I say this with all of my models but she has to be another favorite.
She's definitely the most expressive by far!
I used the same eye rig as with Penny but this time she can blink!!! And do other eye things too.
I also rigged the eye bone (that controls her blinking) to change the eye texture with size! The video show all three eye textures.
I say this with all my models but if you want to reblogs and comments help a lot!!! Especially if you're enjoying this kinda stuff as I enjoy making models.
For the most part :)
More photos and animations below the cut!
PENNY PETITE 3D MODEL!!!!!!
(I think the video cropped wrong at first this one's different)
She is probably my best model yet!! Despite not being able to blink yet but that's unimportant.
The main point of interest: I created a custom rig for her!! I mean I do for most of my models but SHE HAS CUSTOM BONES!!!
It was a pain to make it look right but for the second time I've done this she looks pretty cool.
And she too has expressions!!! I normally just show the face but I really wanted to animate the poses for some reason.
(I also keyframed hair collision in a few places since I don't know physics yet lol)
AND. I did something different for the eyes!
Rather than a flat surface that the pupils move around on I decided to do a tutorial to create a slightly different rig! It stops the clipping that normally happens which is a bonus.
It also creates this little 3D effect which is an extra bonus.
IF YOU'D WANT TO I'D BE REALLY HAPPY IF YOU REBLOGGED OR COMMENTED!!! She is definitely the most effort I've put into a model in a while.
More images below the cut (as per usual)...
FITNESS GOALS!!!!
JANET'S REAL!!!
I'm definitely getting better (or at least faster) with these!
She's slightly more tedious to animate than PMG and BB but I'm still stoked with how she came out.
If you'd like to do please reblog or comment!!! (Especially comments/tags. I love getting comments lol)
My thoughts + extra stuff under the cut... as per usual :)
