Hey everyone, I know it’s been forever since the last update, and I’m still slowly working on getting everything back in the position I want it in, but I need to take a moment to advertise an exciting event that’s about to happen:

Tomorrow at 3:00 AM PST (which is really just later tonight), Japanese illustration label sKILLupper is teaming up with music label Maltine Records to host an event for their audioXvisual collaborative project: STAR (click for link). Lineup for the event includesKawayoo, HouxoQue, Miii, Hercelot, and the phenomenal list goes on, featuring meishismile with their new single STAR as well as live painting by Tokiya Sakba.

If you are unfamiliar with either label, let me give you a brief overview. skillupper is an illustration label created by illustrator Tokiya Sakba (tokiya-official / Pixiv) in 2011, featuring the work of various artists such as Kawayoo川洋 (HP / Pixiv) and MΛNJI (Pixiv), releasing issues of the innovative web-zine “μ-ZINE”, which combines music and visuals for a single experience. On the other hand, Maltine Records is easily the top Japanese internet music label out there, supporting many of the best electronic artists in Japan, and offering it to you 100% free. 

The collaboration of these two labels is a lot to be excited about, and if you don’t happen to be in Japan, no worries — the event will be live streamed via 2.5D (click for link).

Update - Clean Slate

AnimeClay is live now, and updates will continue from here (the AnimeClayStatus blog did not end up being necessary). 

Every post featuring an artist has been temporarily removed. I will now be contacting artists to ask for their permission to feature their art here -- if permission is given, their post will be reactivated. For the time being, I have created a master list of the 153 artists that were previously featured here with links to where you can find their work: Previously Featured Artists (links still in the works)

In any case, AnimeClay will be moving forward.

From now on, I will be asking for artist permission before featuring their work. This will likely mean less frequent updates than before -- frequency may be unpredictable for some time. 

I will soon be updating everyone with a more thorough explanation of why AnimeClay is in its current position, and what has caused this significant change.

Temporary Suspension

Hello everyone,

I have been meaning to temporarily suspend AnimeClay for some time now in order to make some major changes/updates but have simply been overly busy.
