( i need pre established relationships for jieun; from friendships to rivalry, honestly. i need 'em. )
suspicion was not part of her nature. au contraire, most of the time she preferred to keep to herself and mind her own business which could be both a blessing and a curse. but fortunately she managed to keep her curiosity non-existent most of the time. her mother used to say it was a value to let someone else decide what they were comfortable in sharing with her, but jieun was convinced that it was common courtesy not to push someone else only to receive information.
but something about this man in particular kept on bugging her.
❝ are you alright, sir? you look a little bit lost. ❞
leaving at 3 in the morning was a norm for jieun, but if anyone were to see her they would know something was off about a young woman in her mid twenties, who looked like she hadn't slept in approximately ten years and had bruises marring her pale skin as though she had been through some kind of real deal abuse in a building that was used by the government to teach bright and intelligent students. it resembled a school, though it necessarily wasn't one which made things all the more suspicious.
but unfortunately for jieun, she just had to bump into a person.
❝ oh... sorry about the view. ❞
and that was all she said, before tugging at her sleeves in order to prevent the other from seeing more of the cuts and bruises. fingers were raised soon afterwards to tip on the elevator button, so that she could find her car and go home while her mind was trying her best to ignore the presence of the other person.
rosy lips were pursed, and dark eyes were narrowed as she stared at the book in her hands that had been given to her by the friendly librarian upon asking for the best they had to offer. and then they were handing her a horror book, of all possibilities? a sigh escaped her before she closed her mouth and began to crinkle her nose in distaste. jieun had been feeling on edge all day long and now, after hours of working and developing a new concept for the android system that would fix a couple of bugs concerning the data gap that google continuously struggled with, all she wanted to do was rest a little bit.
but horror movies, or horror books surely weren't going to help her relax.
❝ a wise man once said that death isn't the end ... but i still don't see why anyone writes such crap. ❞
her words weren't directed towards anyone, but rambling to herself was one of the many quirks of the female. and right now, her disappointment was so huge that she couldn't help but let out a few unnecessary comments.
the lights were off, and her phone wasn't working and if one could see the expression on jieun's face then it was easy to tell that she was on the verge of breaking the mobile device with her bare hands, but her mind repeatedly told her to keep it together, suppress her anger and look for some other way to find out what was going on and how she could fix the situation. her car broke down in the night in the middle of nowhere with jeun having little to no idea what to do or how to react, partly because she spent the past few years of her life in the us and the uk and sort of forgot how big of a place seoul could be.
❝ fuck this shit. why did i decide to buy such a stupid car?! ❞
but apparently spending years traveling, studying and working abroad didn't necessarily mean she forgot the foul language that her mother always scolded her for using.
( squints at everyone, I'm not great I'm a potato but if anyone is interested in a starter then ... let me know --- )
