I have an overabundance of gooey feelings about Bruno, especially after ep20 and I just need to jot them down:
Bruno is, surprisingly, optimisticly naïve. Since his introduction he’s shown to have strong, steadfast morals, going as far as he did in the Beach Boys/Grateful Dead fight to ensure the gang protects Trish and continues to deliver her to her fathet. He’s duty driven, doing things he thinks is in the right, but is just… Easily taken advantage of. He initially joined Passione to protect his father and because they had a ban on drugs, only to find out Passione was a part of the drug trade. He believed that the Boss was going to protect Trish, going as far as reassuring her that he’ll basically put her thru Passione’s version of a Witness Protection Program in order to keep her safe, and he’s horribly mistaken as the Boss retrieves her to take her life
(and maybe that’s not true, as an anime-only watcher idk what the Boss’ true plan is/could be, but that’s what I’m going off of right now lol)
It just shows that Bruno thinks optimisticly about what he’s been ordered to do, taking commands but not quite realizing the negative potential behind them and it keeps burning him in the end. It’s no wonder he joined forces with Giorno, agrees to help this kid take over the gang that lied to him about drugs, and why he’s so quick to turn on the boss when he realizes Trish’s life is in danger
Basically Bruno is a great character with strong morals & works so hard to protect others, it’s what makes him a great Capo, it’s just such a shame he was plunged into this life of crime and lies and deciept at such an early age :’(
