i feel like luc besson’s dracula answers the question, “what if mirror mirror (2012) had a goth phase?”
the visuals were beautiful, the yearning was high, and there was a kitschy whimsy that i didn’t expect, but enjoyed!

to the people who are selling their FREE imax posters for these prices…I just KNOW guillermo del toro would be so disappointed in you.
I audibly gasped in the theater when I realized just HOW MUCH detail there was in the homage in Elizabeth. The dress, the hair!

Frankenstein at Selfridges, 2025
Reader, I saw it again. So here is a tiny selection of just a few of my favourite details from the the exhibition at Selfridges.
The last day I worked was March 13, 2020- 148 days ago. My work, like many others in arts and entertainment, require me to consistently be in close proximity to others. Without a vaccine for Covid-19, I cannot imagine that we will be able to get back to working any time soon. I am fortunate to have a full time job in costuming, but I also rely financially on my ability to pick up side gigs and freelance work. Right now, I can’t do either. For many in these industries, their work is strictly project to project and they’re all equally anxious- if not more so- to get back to work and earning a paycheck. We don’t know what the future of our industries will look like, when we’ll get back, and how many of us will even be able to go back. That is why it is imperative that Congress extend Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation. Kampala Harris and Dianne Feinstein, please fight to Extend FPUC. Some days you throw on a flower crown and pretend you’re a forest nymph. Other days you wonder why justice still hasn’t been served for a Black woman who was murdered while sleeping in her own bed. — Text “ENOUGH” to 55156 to demand that the officers who murdered Breonna Taylor are arrested and charged. #justiceforbreonnataylor https://www.instagram.com/p/CCmt9OuDA6e/?igshid=nge2t1tg252z
Taking a break on my feed from fashion and masks and the sort to share something else that I’ve been doing during quarantine- walks and nature photography. My dog and I have been taking more long walks, and exploring the beautiful neighborhoods around the apartment. Much to Rhett’s annoyance, I like to stop and snap photos along our route. I am by no means a professional photographer, though it has been something I’ve enjoyed and was passionate about for many years. I’ve just been enjoying capturing little moments each day of beautiful things I see. “For observing nature, the best pace is a snail's pace.” 🐌🌼 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_7lquvDYu9/?igshid=fqoa3z6fn76e
Today is my 8 year anniversary as a Disneyland Cast Member. Exactly one month ago I worked my last shift before the park closed and in one week I will be furloughed. To say my emotions are high would be a serious understatement, but I’m mostly trying to focus on the positive. Because if anyone would have told that little girl in the blue dress with the Mickey Mouse crown on her head even half of the wonderful adventures she’d one day have working at the Happiest Place on Earth, she would have been amazed! Like most people, I have my ups and downs at work. There are some things that frustrate me immensely and there are things that make me feel the utmost pride. One thing is for sure, this time away has made me realize how deeply I miss my job, the work that I do, and the people I work with. In my 8 years with the company, I have met some of my best friends. I’ve learned so much about costuming and entertainment. I have worked countless shows, events, and hours. And I’ve created so many memories that will stay with me for a lifetime. I’m not sure what the future holds, but I am certain that these past 8 years have changed me for good. (at Disneyland California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-7W520jMUk/?igshid=zote7ngu4uza
Yesterday, Clare Waight Keller announced that she would be stepping down as Artistic Director for Givenchy. The news came by way of a heartfelt post on her Instagram and left the fashion industry stunned. Currently, no successor has been named nor has Waight Keller announced what is next for her. Clare was the first woman to hold the highest title at the French fashion house. In a release following Waight Keller’s announcement, chairman and CEO of LVMH, Sidney Toledano, stated, “I want to warmly thank Clare Waight Keller for her contribution to Givenchy’s latest chapter. Under her creative leadership, and in great collaboration with its ateliers and teams, the maison reconnected with the founding values of Hubert de Givenchy and his innate sense of elegance.” What have been some of your favorite designs from Clare Waight Keller in her time at Givenchy? Who would you be interested to see replace her? Share your thoughts below! (at Givenchy HQ) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-2NMNYjU4s/?igshid=97elv7bu22l0
Here is my take on the rose dress from the Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2019 collection. It’s been a while since I’ve put my illustrating skills to use, but I feel like this was a wonderful warm up! I grabbed all of my art supplies and basically just used whatever looked good. Primary mediums are colored pencils and Prismacolor markers, with a splash of glitter glue 😅! Sky’s been a bit gloomy these days, so the lighting might be off on the shot of my drawing, but I didn’t want to color correct it and get too far from reality. I had a lot of fun with this challenge and look forward to the next #McQueenCreators prompt! 🌹 https://www.instagram.com/p/B-qYPaOjBsb/?igshid=mmgg9trfwgbt
