Since Sunday tours of James Talbot’s home, Casa Neverlandia in Austin, Texas, are currently not available b/c of the Pandemic, we can take a virtual tour.
James is an artist who built this home, himself. I’ve heard. It’s still a work in progress. This is the living room looking toward the front of the home.
Simply, the Red Room.
James taking tourists through. The house is also on the Weird Homes Tour in Texas, but you can’t just show up, b/c it’s his private residence.
Kitchen & breakfast nook. He uses a gray water system and people are surprised when they hear that it has no air conditioning.
The Record Room.
The Photo Editing Room.
2nd story area.
The Master Bedroom.
The bathroom has a toilet, but James has been using a compost toilet in the back for years. This is a picture of it in progress.
3rd story area.
Sewing room.
Tile making studio.
Bead making studio.
General construction shop.
The Moon Tower in the backyard.

“Sir, I can has fish?? Thank you, kind Sir!”
Translation:
[weasel? comes up to a fisherman]
Fisherman: Friend, what do you want? [weasel sniffs at a closed bucket with fish] Hungry for some fish, aren’t you? Maybe I should give you a fishing pole? Eager beaver. Let me open it. [weasel is busy digging under the bucket. fisherman gently pokes it] Hey, there is a lid up here. Come on, pick any you want. [weasel grabs a fish and runs away] Hey, no “thank you”? Well, you’re welcome.
I’m NEVER going to get tired of watching Russians interact with wildlife
Weasel/marmot/whatever has zero fear of apex predator IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.
We aren’t the only species with no sense of self-preservation…

I’m putting this back on my radar. I want this life
Ok so today I was on the bus with another trans guy and we were talking about how hard it is to get testosterone. The waiting lists, the price, all the doctors you have to go to, that kind of stuff. Except, we were calling it ’T’, like you do when you’re both closeted and in public.
Then suddenly the elderly lady sitting behind us was like ‘young men, either I’m going crazy or you both have never heard of supermarkets, they have shelves full of tea there! Do you need directions to one?’
To which my buddy starts to explain, because why not. ‘Well you see, we’re both trans, and… ’
The lady didn’t wait for him to finish his sentence. ‘Oh no, I don’t mind that at all! Now do you want to know how to get to a place that sells tea? I’m actually heading there right now!’
We let her take us to the supermarket. We let her show us, excitedly, where the tea was. We both bought loads.
This is beautiful
Nobody ever talk to me about the catholics going off with stained glass again because not one window of jesus has ANYTHING on the Nasir al-Mulk Mosque
Click through this link i’m losing my mind its gorgeous
i absolutely love seeing people’s reactions to the pink mosque 😂
the style is called “orsi” and is unique to iran
and stained glass traces its roots to south west and west asia, developed in ancient times and well before the europeans and the roman empire saw it and said “hey i like that, i’ll be leaving with it”
and while we’re talking about mosques in iran, may i present persian mirror work?
yes, these are real places! it’s a different mosque in the same city as the first picture (the shah cheragh mosque in shiraz)
every time someone tries to talk to me about western churches and architecture and their superiority to that of “third world countries” i have to laugh a little at the ignorance, especially when our mosques look like this
