i truly lose my mind everytime i realize the sorcerer scene actually happened. like their love actually saved each other. they actually looked at one another like that. mike actually ran toward will as though an entire battle zone didn’t matter. he actually wrapped his arms around will’s waist and held him. will’s hand actually lingered on mike’s shoulder as they pulled apart. mike actually looked at him completely love-struck. i’m gonna sob. it’s fine, everything’s fine.

"OKAY YOU WANT A REAL ANSWER??? i love season 2 mike because they actually began to explore his mental health struggles and how they had him acting up in school because he was pulling away and uncharacteristically plagiarising things when he's usually a nerd who likes school to show that he was depressed. they showed him having trust issues with anyone new because of what happened last year, and it showed perfectly how competent he is as a leader because even when he was in situations that would be extremely terrifying for a 13 year old (such as watching his best friend screaming while being possessed and trying to kill people and being stuck in a lab massacre and watching someone die again) he was always trying to keep a brave face. that was him learning to be who he was again. he never asked for or needed reassurance and instead was on the same level as the adults with how he handled all these situations emotionally. we got some of the best demonstrations of how he uplifts the party and how he is a good strategist who thinks outside the box. but they don't just stop there. they don't just have him be a leader and nothing else. they have him break!! they actually have him have a fucking mental breakdown with hopper that everybody thinks is solely about his love for el or something, but its because of the pressure and keeping up with everything and realising how much he's lost himself over the past year. fuck everything and what they did to him holy shitt"
