An honest, true-to-god character development from tortured, ice-cold prince to a brother who overcomes his insecurities and trauma, and not become a once-beautifully written character with an equally beautiful character arc sacrificed for the sake of comedy. How about you?

Same here! I think that they don't know what to do with the character because they have used him in every posible way. They thought a funny spin would change things up a bit I guess

They don't know how to make him like he was in Thor 1, like he was so bad ass and tragic at the same time

I mean, the other possible way they could ruin him would be with a cliche romantic interest. I don't think that would be bad, for him to have a romantic interest, just not a out of character one

He does have potential as character for sure though, specially with Tom in role. They just have to try harder I guess. Less Disney and more dark

I would much rather watch a character development where Loki finds his own standing without depending on a love interest, I wouldn’t hate it though. But with the way Marvel’s going, god forbid they give him a human love interest. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did, but in my opinion, Loki would realistically find that below him to be with a human, no matter what character development he goes through.

Comedy seems to take precedence over any sort of message in morality these days— which, isn’t that what superhero films are all about?? And it’s such shame. I just wish there’d be less writing that depends on shitty one-liners, and more deep, impactful writing.

Especially since the past two Disney+ shows were so incredible. I practically kneel before WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, though. Everything pre-Avengers AoU was written beautifully. I don’t understand how they lost sight of that so much.
