In this growing diverse world, people often tell us to be "yourself" and to "follow your dreams," but what does it really mean? One time, I was doing my make-up and I opt to that "dark lippie see my soul" feel when someone asked me, "what's up with you?" And I looked at him and was thinking "I'm being me like duh, embrace your peculiarities." Every one of us has another side which is who we really are when people are not looking and sometimes it lurks out and can't help but show itself to other people. And I think it's kinda beautiful knowing fully that we never forget ourselves in a world where people makes us slaves and teaches us to work our ass off to fulfill our dreams but dying unhappy and wary cause we never really have time for it. We often hear the line "Be who you wanna be" but how can we truly be ourselves if people always judge us by the things that we do? They want us to be ourselves but changes us if they find any fault about us. They say that we should never listen to people who judges us because it is not important but let's face it, whatever they say it still leaves an impact to us, either positive or negative. They wanted us to "follow our dreams" but kept us working 8 hours a day or more so that we can save money to be able to actually achieve it but is only burden with anxiety that there is no enough time for anything else than saving money that we can only use when we are too tired and sickly. So what is the value of being yourself, and following your dreams if people would only judge you for your flaws and mistakes? Whatever happens, and for whatever reasons try to be who you wanna be. Yes, you will fail a lot of times and people would always find your flaws but don't let it bring you down. If you fall, learn to stand and walk. If you made a bad decision, see it as a learned experience. If you feel like giving up, take time to unwind and think of all the possibilities. I know it will be a hard, painful way but learn to be brave. Do it even if it scares you, because what hurts and scares you makes you stronger and wiser in the long run.
