Architectural and colour inspiration from Belfast City Hospital.
Thinking of how my designs could be also applied to fashion accessories.
Colour and linear line inspiration from a picket fence.
Came across these messy dye pages today where I was testing concentration of colour before dyeing paper and using it to collage. Love these colours combined.
An image I captured today of some steps at IKEA. Love the bold colour contrasts along with the pattern the shadow has created. Looks like this photo was made for my project!
Cushions done..now to continue with the rest of the collection! One week to go!
Exciting to see my designs coming to life and being applied to small cushions for my degree show and to take to New Designers. The contrast of cotton velvet on the front, coloured linen on the back and a flash of colour on the piping, give these cushions a unique and playful edge!
Large paper print outs of my designs before they are sent off to be printed onto fabric in an even bigger scale than these. For me, the bigger these designs are, the higher the impact of experiencing a sense of optical illusion.
Some of my design samples that were printed onto Cotton Velvet by Glasgow School of Art. Vibrant, Zingy and plays with the eyes.
Final Year Undergraduate at Ulster University, Belfast School of Art, specializing in Printed Textile Design, suitable for interior design and lifestyle use. The designs within my current 'Sakkaku' collection have the strength and order of a universal geometric language, an inherent playfulness that consistently challenged the rules and boundaries of geometric principles and a highly refined sophisticated use of vibrant colour.
Have a look at my ArtsThread profile as I get myself prepared for exhibiting at New Designers in June. Exciting and busy times are ahead :)
