Hey does anyone want a random Art Pro Tip? 

This is something I need to do all the time so I thought I’d share it. When you’re drawing characters with a substantial height difference, (and assuming they’re both humans or human-ish), check first to make sure their heads are about the same size, then draw their body. A common mistake I see is someone will draw the shorter person proportionately smaller all over so they end up kinda looking like a child in comparison.

This can be a little tricky if you’re drawing, say, a gnome next to a human, but you can actually keep their heads roughly the same size. Bascailly, you just have to approach it like you’re drawing an average-height person, but then shorten and the torso and limbs a bit. Many artists are so used to drawing average-height people and will default to thin, long limbs, and get tripped up when a person’s height doesn’t allow that. But, speaking as a short person, if you think about it, oftentimes our features are kinda stubby, lol. Let’s assume both characters here are adults:

And if you let yourself really stylistically push their features, the more visually interesting it is. The shorter person here actually has wider physical features overall than the tall person. Both characters are fairly obviously the same age.
