Paper Plains is a mobile paper-making studio that teaches free workshops to the public. We focus on hiring young artists from black, indigenous, lgbtqia+, and immigrant communities to lead workshops. Participants and instructors engage in a dialogue about the history of colonialism and invasive plants in Minnesota. The paper that participants make is embedded with native prairie seeds and can be planted at home. The experience helps diverse groups of people find common ground. Bee/Cause Limestone, calcium carbonate, and native prairie seeds Permanent installation Art Farm, Marquette, Nebraska 2014

Bee/Cause is a text and prairie planting to raise awareness around Colony Collapse Disorder. At first the installation causes viewers to ask: where is the B? Over time, the letters will be absorbed into the soil and grow into native, pollinator-friendly prairie. Soon the land text will consist only of Bees. The installation functions alongside an event at which plantable paper B's are given to the public so that they may bring the B's/Bees home.
