The art of being yourself again
There is beauty in smiling after going through a rough patch. I truly believe humans are quite capable of surviving, evolving, and making it past if we try. We just have to keep trying, no matter what.
Your environment influences you
One may be unprivileged, underrepresented, and not given a chance, but it truly is the mind lacking the ability to ask why things are the way they are. Once you start questioning it, you realize how people's mindsets are so limited, and they don't want to break out of the place they are stuck in. Opportunities are everywhere, and we are going to make mistakes no matter what we do; might as well try it?
Compare and contrast
Why is that we compare ourselves to something else, when they say that everyone and everything is unique. Why do we diminish our own worth to something that survived the same environment. What we look is similarity between each thing and rank what does it better. However, we forget that the one who is better wouldn’t survive the same if they were in our place. Maybe that’s why, we should not compare, maybe that’s why we we should be proud of us each day, for being uniquely ourselves, for ourselves, and continue to grow more unique each day.
Alone but not lonely, sad but healing

Sick and tired
There are days when I feel like an impostor. The inability to tell if I am great at something or not. Why am I in this maze, where I can't tell if I am lazy or procrastinating, or a burnt-out person with the ability to pull off things well at the last possible period? What am I doing, and how can I improve?
Turning 20
My teenage self would never believe I’ve come this far and even grown my very first gray hair. Strangely, unlike all my past birthdays that felt gloomy, today feels different. This time, I feel a genuine sense of happiness and peace. The end of two decades and the beginning of the best moment of my life.
"Expect the unexpected."
They say to expect the unexpected, but I did not expect this, even though I had expected the unexpected. My life feels like a movie or book where I am hit with a plot twist every two minutes. Sometimes I don’t even have expectations, and yet things happen that no one could have seen coming. I fear I might be a main character, but do I have a happy ending? I guess we will know someday.
Maybe I want to be happy, too?
For a long time, I used to wonder if I made people happy or not. It used to be one of my biggest c-o-n-c-e-r-n-s. However, life taught me something else, not in the way I expected. I realized how important boundaries, loyalty, and trust are, not just within others but within ourselves, to take a stand when things are going wrong. Maybe, just maybe, I am my own savior, and no one else is coming to save me. I have gone through a lot of stuff in life. I think maybe some force out there, if there is one, or what people call God, is teaching me how to choose my own happiness first before others, and how it is not my responsibility to make sure everyone is happy or that I am responsible to make others feel better. For some reason, I had to learn it the hard way.
What if...
‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤWe are much more than we think we are
What if there is no creator?
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤBut we are the creators.
Who made everything but forgot
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤAnd we are rediscovering everything again?
Maybe I do have a dream
I want to build something for the people. I always loved helping people. Computer science is the only major that can help me achieve this goal. I am meant to build a community; I am meant to build a system, and I love math. No matter what, I will always find my way back here. It's hard, but it's not impossible.
Did I ever have a dream?
I remember when I was five, I used to love learning about space. I had so many dream careers, like becoming an astronaut, an actor, or someone who is really good at chess or some other sport. I didn't really love studying that much as a kid, since I wasn't the brightest. As I grew, all those adults told me to be a doctor or engineer and that other careers are a waste of time; they are not worth it. I was used to the fact that I should go into these two fields only. I don't think I was the brightest in school. Indian education never left any space for me to be creative and find my passion. I used to wonder why I'm not like others or why there's no one to teach me stuff. I had to learn everything myself since I was nine; no one really helped me. My parents were busy with my younger sister, so I had to teach myself how to learn. However, despite that, I couldn't be the best, just average. They say you find your dreams when you are in tenth grade (sophomore year of high school), but I did not; I let my parents decide. I remember there was a time I did fall in love with computers; they have always been part of my life. I did pretty well in computer science courses back in school and decided I wanted to go with this. When university started, I don't know what changed, but education in the United States might have saved me in a way. The courses I used to struggle with in India were the same courses I started performing well in because it was being taught in a way that let me use my mind and not teaching me how to follow step one, two, or three. However, there was a downside: my computer science courses, which I admitted to enjoying, were the same reason why I fell behind. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing, and then there was I, who was trying her best. I was so good at computer science before, but after a point, I realized maybe I am not. Despite all these struggles, I kept going, kept trying, but here is a thing: 2024 was one of my worst years. I lost everything—including my dream. My dream was to do something great for the world, to create something meaningful, something that can help others with a problem they are facing. I thought computer science was the perfect major to do this, but oh boy, I was wrong. I lost my motivation, my dream, and everything about me, including myself. Recovering from this is not easy, thinking that you are behind is not easy, trying your hardest is not enough since everyone is better, losing your dream, which is the worst of them all, and finding it again. It is like I am an ocean on another planet, where I cannot breathe or swim. I keep trying to hold my breath, to not drown, to survive, but something is pulling me down. I didn't know what it was, but I realized maybe I never even had a dream; maybe I am not in the right major, maybe I am not made for it, but then what was I made for if not this? My parents told me this was the one, and for a while, I thought this was the one. I don't see myself living some other dream, but I can't reach my dream. If there is a God out there, I would love to ask him why he put me through so much pain and agony when my only goal is to help others, to give happiness to others, and to be happy myself. What did he send me here for? What is my purpose?
I don't know when I will get an answer. I will keep trying, because all that keeps me going is some hope to get better someday, even when I should not have any left.
I lost it all, I think
In 2019, I had big dreams, hope, friends, and a will-to-be-here, but since the pandemic happened, for some reason, God decided to be cruel to me. I have lost it all—friends, happiness, trust, hope, my dreams, and my sense of safety—due to people. I used to think being kind was the answer, and I was supposed to save everyone and help them, but in the process of doing that, I lost it all, and I can't recover. No matter how much I try, I can't be happy again; I can't live my dreams. Everything is against me. They say God guides us through the darkest nights. It's been more than five years; where is my God? Does God hate me like the world does, too?
