a long productive study session
rainy day studying for a linguistics quiz next friday.
Friendly reminder that Duolingo cannot teach you a language, but it is good practice for vocabulary being seen in context and goes well with additional resources like a textbook!
04.14.2020 - online courses & some conferences for today.
hey everybody please remember that covid-19 is still a thingâŚ.. wear your masks when youâre out and donât go out unless itâs absolutely necessary
u know, itâs actually good practice to wear a mask as preventative for the regular seasonal cold & flu too. Shouts out to all my logically & practically minded mask wearers. My friends! haha
Savouring the quiet moments đą
donât ever let anyone make you feel ashamed for not going down a conventional path (e.g. not finishing college or starting college later in life, doing an internship in your late 20s, not having a "careerâ by a certain age). all of this is arbitrary. do not create a life that aims to satisfy everyone but yourself. you worked hard as fuck to get to where you are. donât you dare let others including yourself diminish those efforts. you do not deserve that. especially if you did it all while battling mental illness.Â
18.02.2020 // brown sugar and cinnamon lattes are my faaaaaavorite. itâs been raining for solid weeks now with only having had a few sunny days here and there. it can be a real bummer on the mood, and make it hard to get out of bed each morning, but iâm trying to hone in on the âcozy vibesâ until spring finally comes to brighten up the world.
hi - itâs been a while!
little update on my life since this blog has been on an unplanned hiatus for the past 1-2 yrs: iâm now in 5th year, one year away from being a grad! iâm studying part time to allow for work: having recently completed an internship iâm now working in marketing for two different companies alongside studying. i didnât end up going on exchange to canada; instead i went on a study tour (5 countries in ~4 weeks) and have travelled independently (pre-covid of course)! keen to get back into blogging, once semester 1 finals are out the way iâll be posting more regularly â¤ď¸
hoping everyone has a safe & enjoyable winter/summer break! much love xx
Taking the first ever hybrid accounting class at my college means the schedule is super accelerated and i already have a midterm to study for. Iâm in good shape though (for now).
gentle reminder
please try your best to not let anyone or anything tell you that youâre not doing your best - youâre allowed to recognise, validate and celebrate your own achievements
Another year another planner đ doing a bit of goal setting for 2019!
For the last quarter of 2018 I took a bit of a break from tumblr & social media to focus on balancing work and uni. Iâm proud to say it paid off & I achieved my semester 2 study goals! Hoping I can keep up that momentum in 2019 so that I can fix my GPA and WAM before I graduate đ
Howâs your new year going? Wishing you all a happy healthy 2019 â¤ď¸
(ps I made a studygram - itâs annastudiesthings if the link above isnât great! thanks heaps in advance to anyone who checks it out â¤ď¸â¤ď¸ will be posting lots more once uni starts up in a couple weeks!)
celebrate your accomplishments. even if they donât seem much, you made something good happen.
didnât get an A even if you studied the whole night? well, you got a B, so celebrate that. donât forget to be happy for your accomplishments. youâve worked hard for it and you should be proud of yourself.
Coffee in the morning is a brief moment of calm and happiness
thinking of going on exchange to the university of british columbia (UBC) if i can fit it into my degree - are there any UBC students out there whoâd be willing to chat with me about their experiences (esp. regarding cost of living, what classes are like, etc.)? would greatly appreciate!! :)
(iâm mainly considering doing units in either marketing or languages, so if youâre studying either of those at UBC pls message me!)
forgive yourself. whether you fail a test, eat too many cookies, say the wrong thing, fail a class, or spend a whole day in bed â learn to forgive yourself. the next day will be better. the next day will be a day closer to your next success. you can do it.
