As an Astro Bot fan and LBP fan at the same time, I have to agree with this, as I kinda think they would both be great friends (or even brothers).
Seriously, if you check Playstation's Astro Bot related IG posts, there are countless angry LBP stans that kept spamming Sackboy GIFs everywhere, that they even attacked Astro Bot fans and other people for making Astro Bot related content (example: WhY Astro Bot???? Sackboy Is BeTtEr!!!!1111!!!), like, are we in a new low?
And here is the headscratching part, the LBP stans keep saying "Astro replaced Sackboy!!!!111!!!", but I have a question,
Since when is Sackboy Playstation's Mascot in the first place?
Yeah, most of these people prob forgot that Playstation never had a mascot outside of Japan (Toro Inoue) after using that Polygon Man, which was said to "look garbage". These people act like Sackboy was always there since the PS1 era.
People also keep saying that Astro is a reskin of Sackboy, which is also not true. Do not come up to anyone in the Astro Bot community, or just anyone in general and say "they look the same!", while they are both very childlike, they are DISTINCT.
Also, we get it LBP stans, your franchise has been on a new low for the past couple years, the servers are shut down forever (RIP LBP 3 servers 2014 - 2024), but this doesn't mean you need to shove all that hatred to another franchise and community, can we just let anyone like what they like?
Also, with Astro Bot existing and winning GOTY 2024, it also shows that we want more fun platformers, so there is a slight chance Mm Studios or Sumo Digital might make another game for LBP, which may cause the Astro Bot hate to go down, so who knows?
These stans are not even grateful enough for Astro's LBP shoutout in like 3 of his games, and they pretended that the Astro Bot costume in SABA didn't exist? C'mon, this shows that Astro and Sackboy have full respect over each other!
Get this through your heads, LBP stans, let people have fun for once.
