Welcome to my corner of Tumblr, siblings of the craft!

The name is Anne, she/her and Queer. i'm a brazilian begginer ecletic Hellenic polytheist witch/ Pagan Witch, and i use this blog as an Archive of interesting witchcraft information i find on Tumblr. Beawere that i'm still learning and that i will make mistakes.

I will not tolerate terfs, sexists, racists, lgbtq+phobics, xenophobics, ableists and zionists. Yall will be block on sight.

🌻About my path:

My craft mainly involves reading (specially Witchcraft's history), cleansing, protection and a lot of general crafts (mainly Sawing and crochet);

Currently interested in: Greek Mythology and Hellenic Polytheism,natual witchcraft (herbs, flowers, plants in general), crystals and divination (especially tarot);

I've began worshiping Lady Selene, Lord Helios, Lady Athena and Lord Hermes. It's still something very new, so i'm not the best person to ask about deity worship.

i always see stuff uplifting persephone's chthonic aspects as queen of the dead by dismissing her as kore, saying shes "just a flower girl," and while i understand being protective of her deathly aspects which are often misunderstood, demeaning her equally important status as a goddess of vegetation, fertility, and grain is, in my opinion, disrespectful. she was portrayed beside her mother with equal status and honors. there is no understating just how important demeter and persephone were to all of greece, and especially the common man! they were the goddesses who provided food and nourishment; without them life was impossible. she is just as powerful at her mother's side as she is at her husband's. just look at eleusis! we can appreciate both aspects (which often overlap themselves) without belittling one or the other

Y’all I’m being so serious when I say this: go to the library for witchcraft reasons.

You can usually find books on witchcraft, yes, but there’s also field guides on local foraging and wildlife, cookbooks, books that teach you how to craft and DIY, books about environmental protection and stewardship, books on how to use herbs medicinally, books about other religions, cultures, and spiritual practices. My favorite local library even has a seed swapping program and fantastic resources to research your own family history!

Go to the library for witchcraft. Please. :) <3

WITCHES FOR QUEER RIGHTS

Here's a poster I've been working on! Started on it because I saw someone making up an idea for DIY estrogen vial packaging and wanted to try my hand at it

For reference Salmacis is the spring that Hermaphroditus was transformed in, and the inscription below reads "Give your gifts to the child, father and mother, to him who bears the name of both:

whoever a man comes into these springs, let him emerge from there, half-man, and at the touch of them, suddenly soften in the waves!"

Making this got me thinking about how Hermaphroditus is basically the last good trans woman rep we've had.. its *literally* been thousands of years lol. Shes a heighthon (potentially), has tiny breasts, and has almost no curves but she also isnt a hypermasculine caricature

"Open" culture doesn't mean you are "welcome"

A lot of cultures are "open". A lot of traditions are "open". But that does not mean you are welcome there. Your actions and how you conduct yourself are what make you "welcome" in a tradition. Acting like you can do whatever you want to someone else's home is not what makes you welcome. That makes you an appropriator. A coloniser.

And this is a mistake that many people who are "pagan" make. They just take and they do not ask.

They walk into someone else's open door without asking "What are the rules? Would you like for me to take off my shoes here? What is sacred so I do not disturb it?"

Your mindfulness to learn from an open door is what makes you welcome. Not what you can just take. It's not an invitation for people to be robbed from. Open traditions are doors for you to learn a people and their beliefs. Not to steal to suit your personal agenda.
