ー 🇦🇫 ー This is/was the current Afghan flag. It has a long history and presumably has been modified more times than any other country. This shows the turbulent years and changes the country has been going through for so long already. ー Right now, yet again, Afghanistan is going through an unimaginable nightmare with the Taliban taking over the entire territory. The consequences are devastating. Women being erased from society. Only being allowed to leave the house covered in a burqa and accompanied by a male relative. Being banned from their existing jobs. Getting forced to marry taliban fighters. And it goes on. ー Under this flag, the country had hopes on a better, more stable future and a modern society where people would be treated equally eventually. Now the flag will be replaced by the taliban’s flag under which human rights get violated in countless ways. It’s truly heartbreaking and I really hope things will turn around again. 。
