“Planet of Love”, Richard Siken
Do you ever think about how if Sam and Jess had had children they would have been the most beautiful and tall children in the world…
You mean do I ever think about their gangly daughters with unruly, curly brown hair and adorable little moles on their faces and sunflower eyes?
About how they’d be an outdoors-y, athletic family that was also into books and good pop culture, thus leading to lots of walks to the park and the library?
Do I ever think about the girls learning to ride their bikes, learning to roller blade, cramming those curls under helmets because they need to protect those beautiful brains?
Do I ever think about them being in middle school and hitting puberty and desperately asking their parents when their bodies are going to stop being all out of proportion, and Sam and Jess reassuring them with pictures and stories from their own adolescent awkwardness?
No, I never think about any of those things at all. Definitely not.
Hi Tumblr!
It’s been such a long time and unfortunately, my schedule these days don’t leave a lot of time for browsing. :( So, how are you? I’m really interested in what everyone is up to. Are people still into spn? Are there lovely new fandoms? Do you want to be friends who exchange emails and postcards? Feel free to reply! I’m up for chatting about anything.
my email btw: [email protected]

P.S. Feel free to unfollow me too. I don’t think I’ll be posting anytime soon. :(

VAN EYCK
I lost it at the end.
Okay, I had to check out the Van Eyck thing. I was a bit in denial because, come on, every single person can’t look like President Putin!
There are no words to describe how wrong I was.

It’s not about politics or religion or the economy. It’s not about borders, history, trade, oil, water, gas, mineral rights, human rights, or animal rights. It’s not about global warming, global pandemics, globalization, GDP, NATO, or Kyoto. It’s not about elections or sanctions, proliferations, he said, she said, my land, your land, no man’s land. It’s not about the stock market, black market, orange alerts, green homes, hope, change, fear or loathing. It’s not about Communism, Socialism, or Capitalism, war or peace, love or hate. This is about the one month every four years when we all agree on one thing. 32 nations, one world watching.

If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?
Kendrick Lamar
This line encapsulates the concept of a good kid in a bad city, and it cuts into one of the most moral questions in human existence: Can good come from evil? The best part about the line, as is true of the best poetry, is that it doesn’t answer the question it asks. For Kendrick’s immediate purposes, he’s the flower and the city is the dark room. The question is: Can you trust him?
