“You sure? That’s real sweet of you, Noah,” Annie smiled. “Things are good! Ooh, you know I love spillin’ some good old fashioned tea. Nothin’ too scandalous, but I saw sweet ol’ Mr. Preston buying an apology bouquet for his wife... Wonder what happened.”

Scrunching her nose, all Luna could really do was proceed to shake her head as she clasped her hands together in front of her and waited patiently for Annie to pick what she was getting in order to get her own cone. “Watermelon Cooler is alright but I personally can’t stand watermelon since it essentially has no flavor. Obviously this is different but in my brain, the dots don’t quite connect. My personal favorite has always been Bavarian Cheesecake or Red Velvet. My father would always buy me one or the other after a pageant.” One of the only good things that came from her years of pageantry now forgotten.

“Don’t hate me for sayin’ it, but it’s interestin’ that you think watermelon doesn’t have a flavor. I thought it had a distinct one... And scent --one that is in way too many skin care products.” Annie’s eyes scanned the menu once more before settling on a classic flavor rather than the one she’d been touting three seconds ago. “Bavarian Cheesecake is my grammy’s favorite,” the brunette smiled. “Y’got good taste.”

“–Hm?” Colton blinked, realizing Annie had asked him a question– he’d been too busy watching her, thinking about how beautiful she looked– she always looked beautiful, but every so often he found himself looking at her and thinking just how lucky he was. “–Oh, yeah, absolutely, baby,” he replied, giving her a wry grin– hoping she didn’t notice he hadn’t been paying attention.

“So you agree,” Annie grinned, tilting her head just so. She knew Colton well enough to know that the glazed look in his eyes wasn’t because he was listening to her, but because he was staring at her --not that she minded being appreciated. Still, she couldn’t help but tease him. “You also think now’s a perfect time for us t’have a baby. Better get crackin’.”

“Why, thank ya --custard isn’t the only thing I’ve got amazin’ taste in. Y’should stop by Busy Bee’s sometime and see what I can do with a couple’a roses,” Annie laughed. “Ah, so ya need dairy free?”
